Heeeeey devs!
I don't expect there to be a full detailed list yet but is there any way we could get a ballpark idea of what kinda specs we're looking at?
Something as simple as a "If you could play ____ you'll be fine" or "recommended specs for Origins will probably be the minimum's for 2".

Just want to know if I should start saving up now to replace everything in my computer...

Yeah, I hope they can give us some idea soon. I played DAO on Medium/Medium, and I hope I can play the new one at least on Low without having to get a new PC or upgrade.

I expect that they are doing a lot of engine optimization. ME2 looks and runs a lot better compared to ME. I'd expect some similar to happen.

Bump, because I want to know which version I should pre-order or upgrade for my PC.

Not yet. Not yet !

But probably, about what you needed for DAO. Only time will tell if the engine is actually more optimized as a result of extra worktime, or worse because PC got the short hand of the stick this time around, or neither.

I except the system requirements to come in December at the earliest.

Though, I doubt they'll be much (if at all) higher than DAO's

I'd like to know this soon, as well. So that I know which week I'll only be eating rice in order to afford a better graphics card.

I hope not very much higher that Origins. I'm barely scraping by as it is and I *definitely* don't have the cash to upgrade my whole PC.

Ah yes...this will be the game that will allow me to justify upgrading my entire PC....

I'm hoping to build a gaming PC by the time that DA2 is out. I play DA:O on a laptop on medium reasonably well, but it's pushing it in a couple areas. Of course, there's always the console version if I can't get the PC done in time; I plan on buying both eventually anyway.

This. I don't think it'll be a game that taxes the average pc build.

They said in the livecast that if you can run dragonage origins you can run dragonage 2. If this holds up we shall see but their you have it.

I hope that is true.

I would like to know this as well. I can run DA Origins just fine on my computer, but the original Mass Effect crashes it every time. I haven't bothered with ME2 because I want to finish ME1, first.

ME2 runs much more smoothly on my system than ME1, actually.

I hope isn't like Final Fantasy XIV. I mean, really, Square? Anyway, I'll probably have to do some upgrades, anyway, but I'll be happy if I'm able to play on medium. I remember I played on high in Origins, hm.

I'm waiting on an answer before I do any pre-ordering, so I know which version to order. Xbox 360 or PC. I'd prefer PC, but if my computer can't run it, then...

I wouldn't expect a huge change in specifications for DA2

I'm doing the same - my PC runs DAO okay and I can probably get some RAM and maybe a new video card for Christmas/my birthday but I don't want to do a complete overhaul for the game.  Luckily we've got some time before the pre-order special runs out!

We have not yet locked down the PC specs. Once we do, we will add them to the DAII FAQ and announce them in the Announcement forum.

Chris, based on your experience is there a possibility that we'll know the specs before January? I have no idea when developers can guesstimate that information.

We're working hard to lock down the information, but I would not want to hesitate a guess as to when it will be available. As soon as possible would be safe to say, but whether that is days, weeks or months, I don't know yet. Sorry.

My thoughts,

Anyone not running DAO on high or highest should upgrade.
