I think we should have gryphons in DA 2 that we can have as flying mounts. You’d click them and then an area travel map would pop up like in Jade Empire.
Maybe we could even have a gryphon flying mini-game like JE where your fire-breathing gryphon shoots down enemy hawks!
What do you think?
Will there be gryphons in Dragon Age 2?

Before the events of the first game, people also thought that dragons were extinct and the blight was defeated. I trust Thedosian lore as far as I can chuck David Gaider.

Hmm....... yeah totally!!! just completely disregard all the game lore and character dialouge on the subject and we got some Griffens.

Yep, it was mentioned in DA:O that Griffins are long since dead, mind you in the Lost Throne book they assumed hunters had killed all the dragons in Ferelden, then Loghain see's one flying around in the morning.

The Chantry tells us that there's one god, the Maker. Several members of the Chantry as well as one of our companions tells us this.
The elves tell us they have a pantheon of gods, of which the Maker is not one.
Is this a mistake on the part of the writers? Why or why not?

Or about her own ability to chuck adult men
I agree with Maria Caliban. And since I am a tiny Asian girl with a negative zillion strength modifier, I am making a crack about myself and my puniness:D
Also, Rule of Cool. Griffins would be just plain COOL.

They should do a new fight mode where u can fly on a griffin and sweep the battlefield and then the gryphon could get grabbed by a ogre (Poor thing :S)
Also, dragons were mistakenly marked as extinct and they came back, same with darkspawn ^^ they too struck back but Griffins can come back.
Go Go Griffin!

Lore is simply what is known or believed to be known to the characters in the game, that's why it's called in-game lore and not facts about Dragon Age. That said I think the implementation of any mounts, especially flying ones would be difficult and detract from the story.

Problem is, Hawke is no Grey Warden, as far as we know. So, even if gryphon did exist, would he be able/allowed to get one?
Plus I think there's a very good reason why gryphons were made extinct. I mean, Hawke/the Warden dispensing death while mounting a flying horse-eagle-lion?
I don't think the Dragon Age engine is able to handle that much badassery. The PC/console would melt.
