What happens to Grunt if you just leave him in his pod?

I've read that he dies, which is what I'd expect, but any chance that there might be a video of this?

He doesn't die. He is just not recruited yet.

Perhaps I should be more specific; if you leave him in his pod and start the suicide mission (assuming that's possible).

Yes it's possible - that's what I did on one playthrough. Still doesn't die AFAIK.

He doesn't die, if I remember correctly. However, him being absent at the Hold the Line segment could potentially cause deaths elsewhere on your team

He was still safe and sound in his pod after we got back from blowing up the collector base in my last playthrough. Had all the ship upgrades going in, this may make a difference.

Gotta wonder what happens if Grunt is left in the tank and Shepard dies.

Joker is so bored he goes down to the cargo hold and opens up his tank, grunt shoves him against the wall and in doing so breaks every bone in his body...

Ship upgrades don't affect whether Grunt lives or dies during the suicide mission. His tank has Plot Armor, so even if you get all but two of your people killed, he'll still be there waiting to be decanted when you get back. I have one playthrough where Grunt stayed in the tank and Legion stayed in the AI Core. That Shepard just never got around to uncorking them.

When you acquire Grunt, Miranda says that bringing him aboard for study is a good idea, but opening the tank isn't. I thought that meant that if you never open the tank, you effectively hand him over to Cerberus.

This is pretty much what I thought since Grunt was made using Collector tech afterall.

But only a horrible monster keeps Grunt in his pod!

Maybe someone doesn't like/trust krogan and would rather keep grunt in his tank so he doesn't create super krogan babies to take over the galaxy.

Grunt doesn't die.

He merely naps for short periods of time.

yeah, I've never tried that before. I maybe go extreme version? don't recruit Zaeed, Kasumi, and don't activate Grunt, and Legion. that will be interesting.
