Just wondering if the title will be at all relevant, I'm not certain but I'm fairly sure that DA Awakenings ended quite far into the Dragon Age.

Awakening started less than a year after Origins-- so there's still plenty of Age left to go after that point. More than half of it, in fact.

Hmm... I think we need another book to set the story... Who could write such a novel?

Indeed, such a book would be quite helpful.  If only we knew someone who was familiar with the setting, and could provide us more backstory without spoiling the plot of the game.  But, no, that's too much to ask.  Or is it?

Well, that's been known since DA:A began.

As to who should author another book, David Gaider, guys, David Gaider. He wrote the first two, and very well done in my book. Go for it, David. I'll buy it.

On a related note, out of curiosity, what year do you think it is when Origins ends? 9:31 or 9:32 maybe?

But the question is, does Mike Hawke's amazing rise from rags to riches start before Origins and the Blight? Or does Mike Hawke's long and hard journey to full power and strength only begin after the Origins Blight?

*I'm sorry BioWare but you created a meme beast in Mike Hawke*

The Dragon Age literary world needs someone new and exciting to introduce Dragon Age books to the new generation. We need a literary genius. We need Stanley Woo!:wizard:

Mr. Woo, please write a Dragon Age novel for us. Thank you.

David Gaider replying in 3minutes. Sweet.

I also support the book-idea floating around here! *cough* *cough*

The previous ones were awesome, the first 2 books I ever completed, true story.

And they weren't even in my native language!

Hawke, Mike Hawke, is a refugee from the Blight.  I think the assumption now is that it's referring to after the Origins Blight.  I can't remember if the devs/EA have confirmed that, though.

But if the whole thing lasts 10 years, perhaps a couple of those are Hawke's life before he is a penniless refugee? And are we sure they're referring to the Origins Blight and not some earlier one or even later one?

Well there was only one blight during the Dragon Age. . . so . . . .

I think it's about your character profiting from the DA:O blight. He/she discovers an entrance to the deep roads and learns they have been all but cleared out by the warden conquest so he begins looting former dwarven stashes, thus acquiring a small fortune. (Jump 10 years) Although he initially considers a selfish lifestyle of comfort with his wealth, he/she instead decides to purchase as many elf slaves as possible and set them free. What he/she doesn't realize is that these newly-freed slaves have nowhere to go, so he enlists them into his private army and decides to invade the Free Marches with his elf-mercenary military force.

I'm fairly certain it will be the DAO Blight that Hawke was a survivor of. They would not have called the series "Dragon Age" if they didn't intend that to have some signficance throughout the series, so we can expect that most content will take place during that time period, the Dragon Age.

From a related viewpoint, that creates a thematic link between the two games, and helps to shed light on what Bioware is doing here. If Hawke (supposed to a major force in the world, or something, right?) is born in the shadow of the Blight, it sort of explains why Origins' plot is of continued importance.

I think they would be in sci-fi fantasy but I have never found them in my borders/b&n. Guess I should amazon them.

I found both books in the fanfiction/sci fi area of Barnes and Noble. If you see Star Wars books you're in the right area. If you can't find them, I'd ask someone who's trying to look busy.

I was thinking this to and I came up with two solutions.
1) Dwarfs breed like nugs, and give birth quicker than humes.
2) Oghren Obviously got busy with felsi when I glitched outside the tower and ended up in ocean....
3) It's oghren. End Of Discussion.
