Okay, we know that in DA2, you can play a male and female human. We know that *one* of the reasons for not including full voice over in DA:O was that with three races and two genders, that would take up too much space.

Given that (like ME) you can only be human and (like ME) Hawke is a more established character than the Warden, is it possible that (like ME) we'll see a fully voiced PC?

Sadly enough I think that may be the case.

I'd say it's likely.

Leliana's Song may have been a good springboard for testing such a thing.

You know, there are two or three other threads about this.

I think it's great. I only hope that whomever they get to play the PC is a native Brit. I was listening to Russel Crowe's Robin Hood the other day and his accent is all over the place. One moment he's a Geordie and the next he's Irish.

Would anyone be interested in have Steve Valentine (Alistar's VA) voice the PC?

That depends what accent they have in Kirkwall.

I think its very likely. Why else fix the PC with one role like Shep? I just hope its not the ME style third person narrative where you have to guess the actual responses.

As far as accents go, being the "Champion of Kirkwall" seems to indicate thats the Free Marches, so who knows what sort of accent Hawke would have?

I would prefer no voice-over, so that the character's personality is not implied by the tone of voice, and can be player-determined.

But it wouldn't be a deal breaker, and I'm willing to try it.

I realize the arguments on both sides of the issue, but the whole mute PC thing was something that bothered me in DAO. He'd just stand there while everyone looked at him until I made a choice.

I love ME's system, so if the PC is voiced in DA2, I'll be happy. I like seeing my PC talking and reacting, even if I didn't envision the given voice initially.

While having a native Brit is the wiser option, I think Steve Valentine is far too tied to Alistair. Jeremy Irons would fit the concept art.

Only true reason why voice over was left out from DA:O was because you reffered to yourself with name. You were called "warden" but you have said "Im Barkspawn" quite enought. And they cant dubb any form of name you can give to your warden

I'm thinking Gilbert Godfried is not on the potential voice cast list.

I hear Kirkwall is in the Free Marches, they seem to operate as polis/ city -states so maybe Greek or Itillan accents?

I'm drawing a blank as to any British actresses I'd find suitable.

Jeremy Irons would fit the concept art.

And miss out on the potential of Brian Blessed?

I'm so going to get sick of the "In Mass Effect they did this in Dragon Age they did that"conversation. I think Russel Crowe is from New Zealand. I would use Kevin Mckidd from Rome but he has a very thick Scotish accent.

Unfortunately.

I suppose I can see how it might be nice if the voice just happens to fit your idea of your character's voice, but if there are only two options (one male and one female), how likely is that?

I can't speak for other people, of course, but I don't really think that people liking Leliana being voiced is a good indicator of whether or not they'd like their PC to be voiced. We already know what Leliana sounds like, and she isn't our character, so that makes sense. Your character, on the other hand, is... well, your character.
It seems quite a different thing to me.

I meant as a means for them to test the style in the Dragon Age setting.

I always imagined The Terinter Imperium as having the German accents, but only because they have Imperium in their name.

Anderfells is probably the most German place on the continent. I'd guess at Tevinter being more Slavic.

But I've always thought of the Free Marches as un-unified Germany.
