I really thought Dragon Age would be EPIC in that the characters you make would continue into Dragon Age 2 and Beyond.  Origins  was just that, the beginning, and we would be able to import our characters and past decisions and effects into newer Dragon Age games like Mass Effect 2 did with importing Mass Effect 1 decisions.  What a bummer. :pinched:

You can only blame yourself for assuming that.

Maybe you should actually have a retrospective look of your expectations.

Well, you made a mistake, since Bioware never indicated that.

However, I don't see how Dragon Age is not epic as it is, and the minimal material they have given us about the new game sounds pretty epic.

Think about this way, the story is so epic, that Origins formed the background!

You thought wrong and against the grain of every single dev and writer that had been claiming "Dragon Age is a story about a world, not any single character living in that world" since before Origins was released.

Having each game be about a different character in a different part of the world makes the Dragon Age setting MORE epic, not less.

Im glad they switched it up now we arent stuck with only a 3 game story and it being over and done with like ME. Now they can make as many games as they want and switch up while still sticking with the story. Your warden wasnt going to live forever obviously.

Well, gamers on the Internet are like bored monkeys.  If you don't give us something to do or actual information about the game to gnaw on, we'll take what scraps of information we have and do crazy things with them.  Most of which involve how EEEEEVIL the developers are and how it's a massive conspiracy of ****s, baby-eaters, and hate :P

EDIT:  Really?  The forums consider the political party related to Godwin's Law a curse word?  OK.  Am I going to get in trouble for linking this?

It was pretty much confirmed numerous times

You know it would be unwise to walk into Rome and start shouting "I hate Italians!"

The more I hear about this "Hawke" the more I grow to appreciate it. The could make something fantastic out of it with the Dragon Age world.

I thought Dragon Age would be EPIC in that BioWare would hand me a billion dollars, but I was very disappointed when they did not.

It is their fault for making me assume this.

Well there are BioWare games what has character transfer options (even BG2 advertised it for Neverwinter Nights lol, shame it didn't get real, the word epic couldn't do justice for that) but I can't recall a game of their what came with 1 billion dollars.

NWN just transferred the stats. Unless I missed something my character wasn't recognized by the henchmen in Hordes of the Underdark.

BG2 loading screen text says to keep your Baldur's Gate character because you can continue it in Neverwinter Nights.

Ah, now that is crazy I did not know about that transfer I though you were talking about NWN characters themselves!

SO I'm guessing it didn't work out?

Nope, ruleset change and all. But would have set the standards for RPG adventures generations to come.

Bioware can still make more Mass Effect, in fact I  guarantee that there will be a Mass Effect 4. I can make this guarantee on two different reasons. Reason one the developers said that only Shepherd will only be around for the first 3 games which means there is a possibility there will be a forth. The second reason is because Mass Effect is way to popular and makes to much money to just stop making them after the third one.

SO just because Bioware uses a character for more then one games doesn't mean they will stop making that game.

The new adventures of Hawke relieves the pain of waiting for Dragon Age 2. A new game with a great old title.
