...why all this negativity?

All we've seen is a handful of images and we might only have half a webpage of info available at the moment, yet everyone - including yours truly - is complaining about one thing or another: if not because of our neigh impossible demands then it is because of the lack of info on gay relationships (really, at day one?).

Look at us, 'tis as if we're a bunch of savages. Is this the way we show them our appreciation? How much we respect them? Have we not trusted them before? Have they not delivered anything but greatness?

It is time for us to calm down, trust the experts like we did before, like we always have. If not for them, do it for yourself, because deep down you know it's true. Let us wait until more is known, lest we only fool ourselves.

If the time is right, we shall - as we always have - continue the endless ranting, only to inevitably be proven wrong by our BioWare overlords once again. Until then, look in your heart...

Yours truly,
Kaiser / Mathew

I'm more curious than I am disappointed. Though given my history I have been clear on what would disappoint me.

Seems like a lot of speculation over a couple sentences regarding gameplay and now its all "ZOMG'Z ME'2Z?"

Look, I realize I'm not one to talk, but...

I didn't come here to talk...

...but to give the Complainers every kind of hell I can.

-Because Mass Effect 2 disappointed many core RPG fans, and DA2 seems to be going at least partly in the same direction

- Because many have been burned by Dragon Age and the fact that they still can't play the first game decently, and the announcement of a sequel so early sounds a lot like a nice, happy spit in their face.

Sometimes I wonder if people complaining on forums were rounded up, and grafted onto a gigantic mainframe, their brains used in tandem as a gigantic super-computer... wouldn't we have cured cancer by now? Or AIDS? Achieved world peace? Removed hunger from the world? Colonized the Moon and maybe Mars to solve our over-population issues?

As for myself, I honestly can say I enjoy the drama. I'm weird like that. And every now and again I come across an interesting bit of speculation, which is always great.

We need to reprogram these heretics who have reached invalid conclusions.

Character transfer is a definitive feature for me, it's the sole reason I started to play BioWare games.

I kinda feel disappointed but I know the new game will be fun, although I think it will be a step backwards aswell.

Besides, has this day in itself not been fun as well? To be honest, LPPrince and Ms. Kirby pretty much made my entire week with their "Mike Hawke" meme. It's been a while since I've had a good laugh over here, the last time I believe being during the launch of the Kasumi DLC - which didn't immediately come online due to Xbox Live having some technical difficulties - and one user actually hoped someone would release anthrax into the vents at BioWare Edmonton.

Ah, such an unpleasable fanbase we can be... I guess that's why I love you guys.

To paraphrase this.

"Because we are fickle fans and we believe bioware owes us something."

The anthrax threat was the Return to Ostagar DLC delay thread if I'm correct, fun times. 200+ pages of hate in a few hours.

We're gamers. We're whiny, entitled brats by that very nature.

For the record, I'd be fat if not for a metabolism that's in constant overdrive, and my social skills need work.

ACtually it was Kasumi

Shortly there after I derailed the thread into talk about Britain, French and US relations

That was the greatest thing ever to happen.

An earlier poster was talking about hwo they were going to go on a killing spree because of the delay

It is natural that a fanbase complains and/or is split.

It's like they lure RPG fans in with ME which at least had some semblance of RPGness...and then completely strip all those elements out by the second game. I think DA is headed in that direction too.

And the DLC pushing they are doing It's all about the $$$$ now...milk that cow.

Everyone overreacted imo and I know I certainly did. Looking at the big picture the only thing I will truly miss are the playable races. I think I'm gonna wait for more info before commenting on anything else.

For now I plan to remain optimistic. It's Dragon Age 2 for christs sake :)

You actually nailed it on the head. Buoware DOES owe  me and many others a working game (and expansion). Yanno, we kinda paid for it.
:innocent:

This, of course, without even needing to go into deontological arguments on how much a company owes to it's customers. That's beyond the point.

Because everything published so far, little as it is, is hugely dissapointing news!
