I'll make two things clear first: 1) I don't care about being able to play as the DAO character again in itself, but I do want closure of some kind eventually. 2) I did check for earlier threads on this specific point and found none, if there's one feel free to link to it here and close this one if necessary. I'm sure there are scattered posts, but that doesn't seem enough to me.
But here's the point: the epilogue in Awakening is extremely explicit in most (but not all) endings: the hero disappears but nobody thinks his tale is complete. How can you reconcile that with DA2 getting a completely new hero in another land? One simple assumption is that the previous character will make an appearance in DA2, but that doesn't work because the DAO hero *has no voice* and giving him/her one after the fact risks just making everyone complain about how that's not at all how they wanted him/her to sound. They might risk it, but I'm very sceptical.
At this point I have no idea what to make of the Awakening epilogue. I always realized keeping the same character between the games might not be realistic, but giving the hero no closure whatsoever despite a clear promise to do so is insane. I originally expected a small expansion pack before DA2, and so one possibility is a ~10 hours DLC or some such in late 2010/early 2011, but I'm not sure I believe that.
Anyone knows?
Awakening Epilogue: Simply wrong? And if not...

DA 2 will be developed concurrently with further DLC and maybe even expansions for the DA:o story?
Or our involvement in the DA:O story is done and anything further belongs in our imagination?

Hawke is going to be voiced? Well, darn. That means it's going to be the Mass Effect voice system, which I don't like, picking a general idea of what you're going to say, and then hearing someone that may not sound like you see your character, speaking a line you never intended, in a way that you don't want. Sigh.

They did say that there will still be DLC for Origins before DA2 comes out, so here's hoping.

Hmm, I see the 'Where's The Warden' thread is more similar than I thought, oops. Guess it's up to the mods whether they are different enough.
I don't have any problem with leaving things to my imagination - in fact that's what I did after DAO. The problem is DAA very clearly can't let you do that because it's clearly hinted that something important happens that pushes the hero to change plans completely and very suddenly. My point is you can't just shrug that off, and a quick mention about getting killed in a glorious battle you never knew happened isn't going to convince anyone - and neither is being part of the DA2 story as a NPC since DA1 had no voiceover.
EDIT: and I'm not assuming Hawkes will definitely be voiced - just that NPCs/companions will be voiced, and so you can't turn DA1's hero into that without voicing him which is very problematic.

I wanted the epilogue to be Morrigan based mostly but i don't know how to make it happen. I had a romance with Morrigan but then broke up because she asked me to. Then i had one with Leliana and also broke up. I kept the ring, made sure that none of the companions follow me and chose to follow her in the post coronation. Will the Morrigan ending occur? or not because i broke up with her? even though she said she loves the warden??? Anyone knows?????

I'm personally hoping that DLC for origins will continue for some time...
Perhaps that could be a way to continue where Awakenings left off.
That or maybe another part 2 expansion for Awakenings.
I hope there's something, because I'm very disappointed with all the changes that DA2 seems to have in-store.
So "any" new DAO content will be very welcome!
