Wouldn't be the first game to do that.

Seriously, just read my rendition earlier and tell me it doesn't get your blood pumping. Just thinking of Mike Hawke running through terrified and hapless peasant girls gets me excited... but I guess that's just my chaotic evil side speaking.

Due to the flare in the blade, I'm still going for glaive. But I'm sure we're all wrong and it'll have its own cool name.

It looks closer to a nagamaki than a naginata...the pole isn't long enough to be a traditional naginata.

At some point, I want to see the DA series to introduce its own weapons.
So having its own cool name and design would be VERY welcome.

I love the shortened military scythe in mount & blade warband. A nice long and sharp blade with decent heaviness along with a shaft that gives plenty of room for gripping.

Its pretty close, but yeah, maybe it IS closer to the Nagamaki.
For people that want to compare-

Just so long as they don't call it the Hawkeblade.

Of course, we will be able to choose how he fights. Its confirmed he can be a mage.

So, warrior, quite possibly rogue?
I hope polearms get their own talents, and aren't shoe-horned in the two-handed weapon category.

Warrior most likely. But we'll see. I went Sword and Shield in DAO, but with Polearms available, I'd gladly head in that direction.
And i agree. I'd much rather they have their own talents than be shoe-horned into the two-handed category.
