I wonder though, if the nameless PC is the king, how do they mention him? king grey warden? er i mean king former grey warden?

Most likely it would be Queen Anora, and her Prince Consort, the Hero of Ferelden.

Or, King Cousland. Easy as that. No Warden except a Cousland can marry Anora, after all.

This thread is old. There is no canon because you import your old save.

I imagine the 'default' state for the DA2 world will be one where as few characters as possible can return so new players aren't confused by cameos (eg. meeting a Shale who went off to Tevinter and got turned back into a Dwarf would be plain confusing if you hadn't played DA:O). That would mean decisions such as killing all the mages in Broken Circle and leaving Redcliffe Village to die would be default.

That's how ME2 handled it at any rate.

Except that you need canon for people who don't import their saves or didn't play the first game.

Morrigan's Dark Ritual seems to be the only thing that's canonized.

Aside from that one, I doubt any of your choices from Origins would get represented or even referenced in a whole different county.

they did refrence alot of your ME 1 stuff though so if they have an import system for DA2 i'd think they'd do somethign similar. well i'd hope

As mentioned on the bottom of the last page, the Game Informer article does say that there will be a default state for new players.  It will be interesting to see if this is canon, and whether it will carry over to books, the RPG, etc...

(but this thread *is* old, the OP isn't very relevant anymore...Image IPB)

Didn't the GI article state that you will import your character, so then Hawke would come across your decisions?

Such as the major ones, like who is ruling Ferelden.

And cannon wise, I believe Morrigan's ritual seems to be cannon. And Alistair ruling alone hardened is cannon, pretty sure they wouldn't have him marrying Anora be the cannon.

id say that ultimate sacrifice is canon. reason is: that way every guy in ferelden can say something bout a mysterious warden who doesn't live anymore^^

i dont want to see a cannon storyline....yet anyway. =/

because majority of people/guys are going to want the warden to be male, straight, and bang morrigan.

that and there's always the fear that there are those people who say that the "cannon" is what the game SHOULD be even though you are given the option to diverge from that. they'll basically say anything that doesn't follow that specific formula is AU.
