It would of came with a much greater effect I'm assuming.
Why didn't they announce this at E3?

I believe they wanted to hype up SWTOR

Because they announced it on a day with very few competing stories.

Can't have two hypes in one day. Hapless man-childs everywhere would explode with shear nerd rage because apparently that's what game announcements do. ****** people off.

Good point, guess they wanted the press and assorted other people to digest the amount of information we got from this years E3 before making an announcement of that magnitude.

If the game turns out to be a 180, 360, 45, 72 or whatever degree you want like ME1 did to ME2, that maybe why they did not release it at E3

It has to do with Marketing. That psedoscience that explains everything!
Actually, I'm so happy they did annouce it. Maybe I'll look into EA stock!
OMG just did. I must have seen this incorrectly! Did the stock drop upon DA2 annoucement? That cannot be right.
Mwhahaha - maybe a good investment. *looks around. Nobody else will notice I am sure*

Why didn't they announce it? Well...
1. They may not have been ready. If you look at what's been given so far, there's very little information.
2. It would have been overshadowed by 3DS, Move, 360 Slim and Kinect just as every other game was.
3. Even if it wasn't overshadowed by the console/hardware releases, it could easily have been overshadowed by other games like FO: New Vegas, CoD7, Zelda, Medal of Honor 2010 etc

Announce what, exactly? E3 isn't a message board; you need something to show on a stage. At best they could have shown the various splash screens and concept art (assuming either were ready at the time), and it probably would have been very awkward.
If there was no concept of DA2 coming down the pipe, then perhaps they could have gotten away with a teaser reveal at the end of some video. Otherwise, however, the information that they have released now would likely have been met with a "So?"
Now, why didn't they release the information that is going to be released in the Game Informer issue? Money.

They didn't have enough time to catch up with e3, besides they didn't even have a trailer. And you can't come to E3 without a trailer

Because they'd rather talk about stupid features in their crappy MMO.

You hate MMOs and anime, and you embrace overused internet memes? You're like the perfect storm of begrudging BioWare fanboyism.Behindyounow wrote...

No. I hate TOR. MMO's I'm fine with. I don't play them, but I see why people like them.
TOR though just really pisses me off, because that is what we get instead of a KOTOR 3.

They are going to show first DA2 trailer 17 august, which is the starting day of the GamesCom on Colonia. And GamesCom is a showcase at least as good as E3 if not better, for games.

You do realize that complaining about "KOTOR 3" would only worsen your status as a begrudging BioWare fan, right?Behindyounow wrote...

Regardless, my premise stands. TOR is KOTOR 3, only in MMO form. You like KOTOR, but not TOR. Ergo, you don't like MMOs.

No. I want to play KOTOR 3 by myself. But, seeing as TOR is an MMO, it'll obviously involve tons of group quests which you cant solo.
And ok, wanting KOTOR 3 proved I'm a Bioware fan (whats wrong with that exactly? Aren't you too because your on their forums?), how does not liking MMOS and Anime make me a Bioware fan?

It's not that complete yet plus they probably wanted to focus the attention on SWTOR.
I dunno. Could be several reasons really.

This. E3 isn't the only games fair of importance.
