Well I went and installed the toolset Friday, and I worked all day on the confusing tutorials at the Wiki (at least confusing for me since I only know a little bit of Java and html).
Well it screwed up my main game so bad i had to reinstall. So I haven't run the toolset yet.
Is it safe to run it again? I really want to learn how to do this stuff, I love modding.
But I'm worried it will mess my game up, is there a safe way to run it or is there something on my pc I should update before I do?

Yeah, I've seen that.

I did that before I uninstalled and it didn't help.

When you open the toolset the first thing you want to do is Create a new mod, File > Manage Modules > New.

Then, if you export anything or "Post to Local" you will need to go to the install directory AND your My Documents and delete all the files in the over ride folder. I think you also need to delete the Single Player folder.

Number one rule:
Until you learn the toolset basics, do not attempt to modify any OC files. Just create a new module and work in that. In other words, don't use the Single Player or Demo modules. Create your own. Use File->Module Manager. Type in a name for your modoule and set whatever properties you want for it, and you should be set. When you return to the toolset, look to make sure your module name is up at the top alont the title bar.

Yeah, alright.

I'll try it again.

I'll keep this stuff in mind, thanks.
