I had this idea, and of course I'm sure they've already got the game at least half-finished, so it may be a moot point.
We know that the game saves are flagged for importing. We know that we don't get to play our old Wardens (phooie). I'd assume that we can still import the save, though.
Now, one possibility is that it just affects whatever has happened since DAO.
Another possibility is that it affects what happened in DAO and our Warden also shows up in-game somewhere. How cool would that be, even if you didn't get to play your old Warden? And wouldn't it be even better if you could recruit your old Warden into your party if you had a DAO or DAA game save?
It's just speculation, but I think it would be full of win.
Possibility for DAO/DAA Import?

of course it would which is why It wont happen. Those of us who played NWN thought much the same and were continually ignored and the same thing is happening here after all we just buy the games why bother to give us what we want. I am sure the game gurus know what is best for us.

Personally I'm trying to be optimistic, but I also wouldn't be surprised if a canon storyline has been decided and that we can't import games. It's bound to be a pretty difficult task to make a game oriented on various decisions you could have made in a previous game--even if the decisions only influence dialogue.
More than likely, we'll be in a totally new area of the game world, in which case our imported game may mean next to nothing anyway. I'm just saying it'd be cool if we could meet our own Warden from the past (aged up a bit maybe). Party recruitment of your Warden would obviously be even cooler, but also less likely.

Here is the problem with importing anything from Dragon Age Origins... Dragon Age 2 is a detailed, ten year spanning, story that is focused around a specific person, and around specific events that did happen in the history of "dragon age". Either Bioware picked exactly what they were going to establish as history, like who is king, who sacrificed themselves to end the blight, and did someone sleep with Morrigan to create a dragon god baby... All these things have to have some concrete establishment, OR they wont even mention it, so that you can assume whatever game you played happened that way. Either way, it wouldn't work with a game like Dragon Age 2, that is focusing on another completely new story, to import anything. I think it would cripple the potential of Dragon Age 2 if they attempted it... That's how I see it.

I just wish that I found out what happened to the Warden. This is one big plot hole that needs closure.
