Will DA 2 have character customization like DA:O does? or will we be stuck playing as Billy Mays?

EDIT: To clarify, I meant appearance. I already know you are stuck playing as a Human.

we have no confirmation on that yet, it may very well be you are stuck to play as a human and such

A female Billy Mays would be intriguing though.

Considering that you can switch gender and class, it is very likely.

Beard length and breast size only.

I'd go as far as to say it's very UNlikely if this were NOT the case. Even Mass Effect lets you alter Shepard's appearance, and that character's about as stereotype as they get.

I've been wondering this myself, my first thought (was that he lied in every word) was that of course you could. Based on the direction they seem to want to take it, the more I think about it the less sure I am.

I SERIOUSLY hope so.

Lack of visual customization would be a serious issue in my eyes. One that might as well push me into labeling the game with a big "PASS".

we have had comfirmation...from a bio guy..in another thread.

he said you WILL be human.

no I'm not searching it out for you.

you can choose not to believe it due to that fact..but you would be factually wrong.

will that change before release? doubtful but possible...however we HAVE, in fact, had comfirmation.

I believe the OP was refering to if we could custimize the humans appearance, or if we are stuck with a canon Hawke.

lack of constumization was one of the major issues i had with Alpha Protocol myself, so I guess with less access to costumization DA2 will also suffer in its sales

Eh? The game's been announced less than 24 hours ago. What direction?
Again, Mass Effect. The marketing ONLY shows Vanderloo, yet (fortunately) you can create your own, less ugly face for your Shepard.

Probably the same as DAO and ME1-2.

The head being customizable, face, hair, etc.

But preset body.

If you were British you'd use the word b*llocks a lot.

That bomb dropped this morning and we are still assessing damage...and looking for casualties among the rubble.

I understand what you are saying. However, from what we know so far, it's not very hard to draw comparissons with BioWare's other franchise, Mass Effect. And because it's not very hard to draw these comparissons, some people are thinking the game is moving towards ME elements.

He'd also spell it right.

Rubbish.

Two b's.

We'll definitely be able to define Hawke's appearance - this is Bioware, after all - and hopefully his background too. What really interests me though, is whether the game will be fully voiced. Providing us with an unchangeable surname - Hawke - is a familiar concept, and one that seemed to work well in the Mass Effect series.

Well, I can hope, right?

Ahem. Jade Empire.

I mean, I seriously hope you're right, but it's not like they never made a game lacking visual customization.
