I feel it would be a major step BACK if the main character could be good or ruthless, a mage or warrior, but then you would be stuck playing as a certain male ore female (most likely male) character. I personally like Western RPGs a great deal more for their usual customization and wha not, if I wanted to play a specific person that I'd be stuck with the entire game, I would just play a JRPG.
Aside from that, I don't really mind playing a human(since that is my main race in DA:O), however it also feels a step back since you won't be able to play from their perspective. Now, in its description however, a story that spans over the course of a decade, now THAT is the extremity that I love in my RPGs.
In terms of character creation however, I still hope for the possibility in making your character fat/muscular/short or tall. If you can only play human, you should be able to at least get that, it should be more extreme than just creating a face for your character. Also, I feel it should make for very different, distinct faces, whether your trying to make an asian looking character, or a black character. I know it involves more work to do these things (at least the body modifier), but personally, I feel simple face customization is not enough for a game (in terms of just the customization aspect) that I'm planning on putting possibly over 30 hours for.
