they already confirmed less costumization, cutting of origins, and no ability to play as anything else than a human

Yeah losing the origins sucks but I can look past that if everything else is as deep and fun as the first dragon age.

I hate to play in an RPG as human, it makes no sense, it is as if you order milk in a saloon

many places, one of them is here:

social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/9/index/3062795

obviously the fact you have to be human is already less costumization, same with lack of origins, and preset name

Milk in a saloon huh?

It makes perfect sense from a role-playing stand point.

I'll second this. I may make some gripes, I may wish that some things were different, but I'm going to buy DA2, I'm going to love it, and I'm going to rant about it to all my friends.

Yep. BioWare definitely knows how to make RPG's.

Its nice to see a topic that isn't sparking controversy or bashing DA2 despite the fact that so little info has been released.

Things aren't that simple as back in the 80's anymore, it is not just about "either you buy and play it or you don't buy and miss out on it".

In these years, unsatisfied people/fans who dislike changes made to their favorite franchise in a sequel are likely to pirate it instead, paying nothing and still playing it, piracy is one of the major issues why sales dropped in through the years and why many developers go bankrupt.

Bioware did it mostly well until now, to ensure increase of sales and buyers they make DLC-s and expansions which discourages piracy, there is no better way to do that in my own opinion. However, the fact remains that many people who say they will not buy the game if this or that is done to it, then they seriously mean it.

All the origins the last time had preset last names and you weren't complaining then. Sheesh.

Bioware never said anything about the loss of Origins. They're an integral part of establishing the background of your character, and vital to the gameplay. The origin levels themselves are, while interesting, unimportant relative to their role of giving your character both a motive and personality. Bioware won't take away origins, because they know just how important they are to the game.

Or at least I hope they won't.

Nah dude, I'm one of those 20 something year old anomalies whose facial hair looks like pubes, so playing as a human with a badass beard is how I roll.

actually, i think the opposite from you:

without the actual little gameplay to play through ("origin levels"), the origins would be boring and meaningless

As far as preventing piracy, I think that Arkham Asylam did it better.  The software was written so that a crucial ability needed to advance early in the game would not function in pirated copies.

it depends on the setting

in a Vampires game i would love to play as human

or in a world where humanity is enslaved

Here? In Dragon Age I like elves, city elves the most to be specific

because some devs/mods already stated some facts about it, and hinted at that its likely there are no real origins anymore

You guys are horrible at maintaining the purpose of your threads. They just turn into arguments.

"Thank You Bioware I Love You."

"Well I Hate You."

That's not a confirmation. You could say that the lack of races and origins is less customization though, but that's different and, as we know nothing of the game yet, it might turn out to be a good thing. Anyway, I understood something different from your post.

Key here is "some" facts.  The choices in your "origin" this time could be more meaningful.  We don't know yet

Since everyone is saying that they are cutting the origins, where is the proof? Didn't the original press release of dragon age say you played as a human grey warden? Then revealed the origins later on. That could be the same. Hawke could be anyone.
