level cap?

Hope its more then 20 this time :?

Would not bet on it. BioWare subscribes to the D&D style of leveling.

Which D&D?
Basic, 1st, and 4th all go to 30.
2nd and 3rd go to 20.

I prefer AD&D 2nd or 3.5 myself :wizard: .... with that being said  :bandit:.......  Please not 4th, please not 4th, please not 4th, please not 4th :o

 do we know how awakening save game is going to transfer over if there was no post game save?

Since there is no plot-changing dialogue when you face The Mother, you should import the auto-save/manual-save from that very same room, remembering that battle is the last thing you can do on Awakening.

If you need a sold save, or just prefer one as opposed to the auto-save .... like me :whistle:, I dont know why I just do. Once you beat the game, just Resume and it will put you back infront of the Mother and you can save there B). I guess since it doesnt save after the fight though you could just save there anyway and it wouldnt matter :?, but just on the 1 in 10,000,000,000th chance it does :bandit:, I do it the way in which I described. I have such OCD issues :D

Thank god Hawke's the oldest sibling, I was worried Beth was going to fill the role of righteous older sister.

So, given the screenshots in the OP - will all areas of the game look like a desert arena in the middle of nothingswhere? Or is that jsut a series of shots from a particular bland area? Because it looks like there isn't anything at all going on in the background (except brown and grey faded mountains) - no trees, no elements, nothing.

Kinda disappointing.

Thats the beginning of the game. You remember Lothering, nearly a wasteland, with few life?
If we start in lothering and will have to fight darkspawn right in the beginning of the game, it would be obvious...

No the rest of the game is different, if you saw Thedas map, Free Marches are pretty much a green area, unlike Ferelded, except in some parts.

I scribbled down a few things listening to Gaider's chat, but I had to leave before it was over (and using the ustream viewer for Android was spotty at best) so I might have missed something.

What I got:
* Inon Zur returning as composer
* Grey Wardens will appear
* Flemeth appears "more than once"
* Hawke is the oldest sibling
* Best of all, "apostate" is pronounced "a POS tate"!

LOL, okay so that last one isn't exactly list-worthy. I can't believe he actually answered it though. :) Hopefully they'll be extra vigilant when people start pronouncing it the wrong way! :P

Anyway, it sort of bugs me not having something to link to, but maybe it'll show up eventually...they have a few links for dates in August. Not sure how that works.

Edit: forgot one... Varric's house is House Tethras.

I think its also important to mention:
- The game will be smaller then DA:O but bigger than Awakening.
- Altough the level of nudity dind't changed much, the devs opted to a more "risqué" path in some things.
- IF a toolset is released, it will be AFTER the release of the game and an updated version of the older one.

how is the inventory system this time ? One more thing... would I be able to make money and buy whatever item I want for my player.... making money was easier for Dwarf Royal origin in DA:O ... since selling items to dwarf merchant in denrim used to fetch good cash !

Gaider info:

* Cassandra is Nevarran

* Not every silhouette in the Blood Dragon is a companion

* Pirate Girl is a follower

* Hawke will not show age, other characters will

* Of course Sandal is back

* Kirkwall is larger then Denerim

* Varric being in the party affects how he narrates that section

* Temporary followers

* No Werewolves

* Luke Krisjansen wrote Aveline

* More Dalish lore

* The sword-staff is in the game

* No Keep Management

Nutella question broke his mind.

* No Lady Gaga in-game

* There are companions that will stay with you through the game, or most of it (Gaider implied at least two)

* No Starkhaven

The Chantry seekers serve the Divine directly
David Gaider wrote Cassandra. Cassandra is Nevarran.
Might learn more about old gods but they are not a big part of the game.
"No no info on Pirate girl, you will get info on followers in due time" - Hint that Pirate Girl is a follower?

Someone asks about Arlathan and Gaider talks about not going to spoil his own story in a general sense, may or may not hint at learning more about Arlathan.

David Gaider ideally wanted to bring back all romances in Awakening, ideally all companions.
There is some of the Fade in DA2.
"Of course Sandal is back!"
No play after the end.
David likes working on characters and banter the most.
Does Varric's prescence in the party effect his recounting of the story? Yes
Mike Laidlaw is "Mom."
No werewolves.
Luke wrote Aveline.
No keep managment like in Awakenings.
A Nutuella question: "God help me." *rubs forehead*
There are companions who will stay with you through most or all of the game.
Varric is one of David's favorite characters also someone we don't know yet.

Being the oldest sister doesn't mean you MUST have that personality.  For example I don't intend to play Hawke that way...

I thought it meant that in an ideal world David would have like ALL Origins companions return in Awakening, not just Oghren. But due to all limits and restraints it couldn't have been done.
(Although at least cameos could have been possible. They made a Loghain cameo, even though people who had him alive at the end of Origins are a minority compared to people who romanced Zevran, Leliana and non-king Alistair. <_< But that's off-topic rant.)

Simply that if it was his choice and they had the time/money he would've brought back all the romance options from Origins into Awakening.  He then added he would have liked to bring all the companions back.
