The Amell thing came completely out of left field, does this mean those who import an Amell Warden could get some unique dialogue down the road?
After the interview, I made an Amell Warden immediately.

SirOccam thinks Male Hawke is Nicholas Boulton. Well they did say he wasn't in a very popular role in DAO so it would make sense.

It's always seemed likely but it sucks for those who hoped for Peter Bramhill! (Should SirOccam be correct of course)
@Dave: By a strange coincidence I'm halfway through an Amell playthrough at the moment! All the more reason to finish it off now.

Ser Wesley's (and presumably Aveline's) last name is Varren or something similar. He was on his way to Denerim when he heard about the news and turned south and met up with Aveline just outside Lothering.
This is speculation but I think the Hawke boys (I played male Hawke) were at Ostagar. Bethany said something then Carver says "why are you looking at us, we've been running since Ostagar!"
Speaking of Hawke, like someone mentioned, my money's on Nicholas Boulton. I would say I'm 90% certain. I could easily imagine him saying "so young, so...vulnerable."
Hawke and family are just running aimlessly sort of, just getting away rather than going somewhere specific. Bethany points out the folly of this and their mother suggests Kirkwall."We still have family there, and estates." Then someone (can't remember who) says they'll have to catch a ship in Gwaren.
Cassandra had a really hot accent. Just sayin'.
Gameplay was really fun. I totally see what they mean by "more responsive." It is fast-paced, but enemies still have HP bars and it still has that rpg feel. I was going to try to pause a bunch and see what the tactical game felt like, but I kind of forgot, because it was just too fun slashing away. I played rogue, and the attacks were super fast. Great animations. Carver was a 2h warrior, and he felt a little bit slower, but just enough that it felt like he was swinging a heavy weapon, not glacially slow like in Origins. Bethany was a lot of fun to play; I think I may have spent more time controlling her than Garrett. She had this spell that sort of rained fire down...it was great.
The talent tree at first glance was confusing as Hell, but that's probably because I only gave it a glance. I wanted to get through as much story as I could. Still didn't make it to the real Flemeth meeting.
Um...that's all I can think of off the top of my head (I'm sitting in my car charging my phone). I might go back in while it finishes, then come out and grab it then go for another round of DA2 (as femHawke this time).

The only person who leveled up was Hawke, so I just saw the rogue one. I couldn't select attributes or talents for anyone else. The only options that weren't greyed out on the little options wheel were character and exit I think. So I couldn't look at inventory either.andar91 wrote...
Thanks, you rock SirOccam. And everybody else who posts their impressions too of course. If you don't mind me asking, did you get a look at the mage talent trees? I ask because I"ve been assuming they'll have to look different. Warriors and Rogues would only need three (two weapon schools and warrior/rogue school) not counting specializations. I imagine mages would need one per spell school unless they cut out a LOT of the spells and I got the impression they weren't cutting that much out.
That reminds me though, when you're spending skill points (I got 3 again), there's a little description of what each area does and hard info on what will increase. For example (and in retrospect this seems odd so maybe I'm misremembering), cunning for rogues said it would increase defense by X. A nice change from DAO where you just had a vague idea of what stuff did.
And also, there was sort of a bug...Varric and Cassandra referred to Hawke as "she" even though I played a male. Maybe because I was controlling Bethany when that cutscene started? Unless they were talking about Flemeth. I'll have to listen to that part again.

I could easily imagine him saying "so young, so...vulnerable."That said, it was ridiculously loud (and like an idiot I chose the machine closest to the presentation room so it was that much worse). Everyone else's voice was much less distinctive, but still nice. If it weren't so loud I might have been able to make guesses. But even with headphones I had to strain to hear.
I hope you're right about the VA. I also had trouble hearing the voices, even with the volume all of the way up and pressing headphones against my ears. I'm not particularly good at voice recognition so I couldn't tell. I thought he sounded like Teagan, so that goes to show how much I know, heh. I like Boulton's voice a lot and I hope it's him.

Bethany / MageHawke were tutored by Hawke's father, who was also an apostate.asking these sorts of questions and getting those sorts of answers.
It should be interesting seeing things from an apostate viewpoint! But then David Gaider dodged the question about meeting Hawke's father later on. Boo.

The only hint I've seen for a LI in the past few weeks was from the podcast (but that might just be me wishing).

Taking into consideration that Pirate Chick is a follower (at least, that's what I gleaned from that one interview), then she is most definitely a romance option.
