Peter Thomas has said console players can toggle auto-attack on through the radial menu somewhere in that thread.

To play to each systems strengths rather than just porting one to the other. PC stays the same, console combat largely becomes more hectic/responsive as well as more intense. Differences mostly due to the porting hell between PC and PS3/Xbox 360, so yeah. I don't mind the changes at all, because honestly, I never went to BioWare for gameplay. As long as the story is epic and good, the game in my opinion will be good. Already an increase in quality from what little I managed to gouge at PAX from the Livestreams.
At least, that's how I see it.

Epic story must be epic, in my opinion, and what could be more epic then playing as the son of your own hero and the offspring of a god?

Wrong, being the son of a hero or the offspring of a god doesn't make it epic, it makes it cliché.
Whats this? A greek story? Those are famous for having sons of heros/kings/gods as the main character.
Besides whats wrong with playing someone that came from bellow?
Its more interesting this way because its something that would most likely happen in real, we don't need every single "blue-blood" out there stealing a place in history. Napoleon didn't fought with his single hands, he had an army at his back.
What I mean is, common people are sometimes more important than they look.
And no, you don't neither of them in DA2, it MIGHT be possible in DA3, but this one ain't out yet and creating rumors now about possible games in the future is a stupid idea, unless it was so good that devs will accept and add it to the plot.

The whole "Rise to Power!" concept has been done to death in movies, literature, and games (hell the fable series is dedicated to this very idea). You could argue that eliminating an ancient evil was generic, and in a sense it was, but the rise to power is far more commonplace, and thats not to say bioware won't make the story great- I'm sure they will and I just hope they have some interesting takes on this common theme.

what do you mean saying that we can import staff from dragon age origins to dragon age 2?what can we import, the results of this and how can we do it?
For example, imagine you choosed Bhelen as a king, he doesn't care about dwarf tradition, therefore there is less discrimination towards lower casts, the laws agains't dwarfs in the surface change too so they're all free come and go as they please, the commerce has way more freedom, etc.
Those differences could be noticed in DA2, like more dwarfs in the surface, less differences betwen commoners and nobles, etc.
If you let some NPCs live in DA or DA:A, they could appear in DA2 and add some changes, be possible companions or even enemies.
If you choosed Alistair as king or not, could also change some of the plot.
DA2 is very flexible depending on your choices.

I agree, I was just saying that compared to the idea of son of God/Hero, I prefer the the idea of a commoner raising to power.
Its true that we need a new origin for the main characters for games and movies alike, but I'm no writer nor I have something in mind.
We have so far:
- Noble/divine beginning
- Rise to power
- Empty past

Yes, the "Rise to Power" anthem has been sung until most of the choir went hoarse and started asking for glasses of water.
However, I have yet to see a game being done in quite this way: where the events in question ast determined by the player are also being reiterated by a dwarf who runs a spy network, occasionally embellishes certain parts, and has no love for the person he's telling the tale to. I imagine we're going to get some very interesting cut scenes, at least...

I added a link to Peter Thomas' thread, but next on the to-do list is to actually sift through it and add that stuff to the list. And also some of the stuff that's been posted here in the last couple of pages of this thread.
Edit: err, spoke too soon. I missed one of Sebastian's interviews. I'll do that ASAP.
