Maybe I'm wrong, but I have a feeling that the graphs will get much better by the time of release. Specially for PC version. They also shown some pics of the making of DA:O and then the release, the change was huge.
This might be the same case

we have any hope?
Everything is possible till the day of release, we just need to wait till then, stuff happens in one day.

Yeah, but I wouldn't expect any big shift in the graphics from what we're seeing now. Those early screens of DAO were from 2004 as proof of concepts so don't expect such a night and day difference like we had in DAO, especially since DA2 is only coming out in about 5 months or so. It'll likely have more polish, but thats about it...

Huh..They had female Qunari concept art but they won't be in the game? That kinda lame. It would be interesting to hear what a female Qunari's veiw on life would have been...it is just as bleak as Sten's was?
Anyways @ thread, when the hell are we gonna get some character updates!?
Well, I asked because of Sten's reports about how they reguard children. The human mothers we know tend to have a strong connection with their children so what is a females veiw of the human and qurari's differences. Besides, all we know of qunari comes from Sten...and now we find out that the typical qunari has horns...so their is obviously more to the qunari then we could force from Sten. What do they feel? What doubts do they have? How did they develop their societies? Their history? How do they interact with each other in a social setting? How do they treat their bosses? co-workers? lovers? friends? Every Individual has an individual perspective on life made up of a thousand factors even if they are told to keep it quite and conform...so why wouldn't another character's personal attitude be slightly different from Sten's reguardless of wether or not it's female? I wanted to know how a female qunari would react to the rest of the world and compare it to Sten's attitude...I'm curious to see if the attitudes are similar. Seems look it would be a fun companion character to figure out that's all.

If modding is removed as an Option...(hopping I am wrong) than this truly is Mass Effect reskinned. for Dragon's Age 2.
Hoping I just missed the "We will actively allow and support community modding.
Me.
PS anyone who says that the romance is NOT important is lying or is just not romantic.

Edit: D'oh! Didn't spot that this thread was so long! I'm sure my response has been covered before, but if the info about Hawke in Lothering is still correct, then at least I'm correct, if irrelevant!

now spoiler alert!
my char in dao left in the dlc Witch Hunt with morrigan to live together. Will this in any way effect anything in DA2?
I do not like the fact that in DA2 your previous char has little to nothing to do with what happens in this story. I will certainly miss my city elf rogue.

Most people seem to agree that if our Warden makes any appearance at all, it will be a momentary glance of him or her walking by in Lothering before the destruction of the town. But that is in no way guaranteed, and in fact I don't even think it's likely. In any case, the Witch Hunt thing probably won't affect anything in DA2, because that takes place a couple years after Lothering, when Hawke is busy doing his or her thing in the Free Marches and therefore pretty far from anything going on in Ferelden.Hookie24 wrote...
apparently you can load from your da-o save, but wht from this save do you gain? anything of your character? or is it just decisions that your previous save effects upon da2? also someone quoted that when a director was asked about if morrigan would be featuring in da2 the director said "Morrigans story is not yet over" or someting to that apparently off gamespot.

What you get by importing is to have your decisions carry through, like who is ruling Ferelden, who is ruling Orzammar, who killed the Archdemon, etc. Also it's been said that the "boon" you request at the coronation may have an effect on the story.
Choices that aren't followed up on in DA2 might still be used in later games, however.

~ "Qunari don't have "family units". They don't marry or choose partners. Qunari do not even know to whom they are related. A Qunari's "family" are his or her coworkers"
~ "A qunari's personal name isn't what we think of as a name. It's more like a social security number. It's information that the Tamassrans use to keep track of breeding. It's not something they ever call one another. What a qunari thinks of as their name is their job title. The job titles are differentiated by rank and task"
~ "The Tamassrans raise all the children, give them their general education, and evaulate them. Qunari are officially assigned their roles when they are twelve years old. The Tamassrans have some tests, but nothing requiring a #2 pencil. They also have something of a head start on the process, since they are the ones who control the Qunari selective breeding program"
If you're interested heres a link that contains even more info.
Anyways my point is, saying you want to see a female qunari so you can see their views on life is silly because we already have a fair idea of what they are and could easily learn that from a male qunari anyways, and if their views were to differ from what is normal of most qunari then they wouldn't be a qunari they'd be a Tal-Vashoth.
Personally I'd rather have a female Tal-Vashoth as that would allow her to be a fighting companion which a female qunari could not be.

Today I bought the Dutch version of the PC Gameplay magazine 'cause it has an article about DA2. Here are the things that I felt worth mentioning here:
- Characters can reach lvl 20 (it's not clear if this is the maximum), after lvl up the character will really feel more 'powerful'.
- Level 20 Hawke will be much more powerful than Level 20 Origin Warden and party will give you the feeling that it really is a 'killer party'.
- Slowmotion killer move for the mage can be letting an enemy explode in the air (like a watermelon).
- Opponents will be tougher and more intelligent.
- Possible class combo: Sunder armor (Warrior) makes it possible for rogues to backstab better (which is strange because rogues can no longer backstab in DA2, I assume they mean critical hits).
- Rogue armor will give the character more of a 'ninja-look'.
Edit:
- Hawke has some big secret and during the story you have to try and figure out what it is.
I'm not sure if all the information is correct (that backstabbing thing is wrong, though it may be a translation issue), so take it for what it is. ^^'
Some things may sound a little vague but that might be because of the translation.. just ask if anything is unclear.

Backstabbing isn't entirely out of the picture, Peter Thomas said that every class has a better critical chance if they attack from behind (uh, yeah...).
So I'm guessing Sunder Armor raises the critical chance of rogues' attacks on the affected enemy.
I want to see some Rogue armor now!
Oh and thanks for the info!

This...is kinda depressing. It says that they pretty much treat themselves and others like machines, but as I read further, my interesting in seeing more than one type of qunari character still feels valid. It says that they still feel emotion and aptitude varies despite breeding efforts and, for all intents and purposes, still remain individuals dispite their lives being assigned to them. It also mentions that females are generally considered best suited for management roles, so much more so that outsiders who don't understand qunari society tend to think of them as rules although that isn't exactly true...that's quite a bit different then Sten's role which was intended for observation, so I still think it would be interesting to have a female qunari team member, since story wise she'd be completely out of her element or one of those unique qunari mages...maybe she joins the warden because he/she offers a chance of survival after her station is raided by darkspawn, or is taken prisoner, or a shunned individual who didn't fit in to her own society (maybe she kept trying to visit her children for reasons she didn't understand, tripped some social tention wire) and was nearly murdered for until you saved her...take into account qunari's all still have emotions (even though they try to hide it) and you could still have a very interesting character. I don't think it's silly because I want to see the veiwpoints of the different societies within the game instead of just reading an article about it.

Can you customise the starting look of Hawke? I don't want my guy to look like everyone elses character, I want to be able to make MY Hawke look like me, and my female Hawke look like Jolene Blalock.
I believed this is already mentioned on the list on the first post, but to reiterate - yes. You can customize Hawke's looks. The screencaps/trailer are just a default look for marketing.
