- Hawke has some big secret and during the story you have to try and figure out what it is.

"No Hawke, you are the darkspawn."
And then Hawke was a hurlock.

That's to indicate allies/enemies on the battlefield, and Bioware's been using some variation of them in many of their games since at least Baldur's Gate, so... My guess is yes, they'll have them. No confirmation from the devs, but I'd say it's very likely.

Personally, I like them because it makes targets a lot easier to identify at a quick glance during the middle of combat.

Also, you can see at a glance which enemy you're targeting, so it's easier.to switch targets if you need to.

How did he even get involved in DA2 discussions? And how come my eyepatch is gone?

Does anyone have an idea of what is the "E" that Hawke has on his left arm? It seems to be related to blood magic, though I don't recall anything like that from DAO.

The red eyes means he parctices it, as Gaider or other dev said in other topic, but what E are you talking about?

No need, I saw it near the end of the trailer now.
I guess its blood magic, remember when he started to cut some symbols on his arm to cast that kickass spell? It must be it.

^^I guess so. But I wonder, why an "E"? What does it stand for?

The E itself means a sum in maths.

Summation:

What else I have no idea. Maybe its a symbol for a spell, like in HP games.

Yeah, I'm aware of its meaning in math, but I have no idea of what it can mean for a mage.

All I know is... I hope we don't get butch haircuts for the female Hawke like we did with FemShep.

I'm not in the military! I WANT LONG HAIR!

Amen to that...
Seriously, some of those femShep haircuts made me think of 1) those dress-up games we played when I was a kid and 2) a movie where a woman decides to join some elite army group and shaves off all her hair (since she was a woman she was allowed to wear it long), can't remember the title..

GI Jane, lol. And you can have your hair long, you just have to wear it in a bun or something so its off above your shoulders; that's why most recruits have those bob-haircuts. No free-flowing long hair in any branch of the military ;x

As for DA....I dunno. I can take or leave it. On the one hand it'd be nice to be pretty and girly, but on the other if I was a rogue or warrior, my lucious locks would be a perfect place for mine enemies to pull and yank me off my feet. But I would like to see a mage with longish hair... //torn.

Agreed on the hair thing. I usually play as females and I want some nice hair. Nothing against short hair exactly, but some more variety would be nice. I don't know how they won't fix this, as the hair was a big complaint for a lot of people as far as character creation goes.

Wow. You do realize that the only reason female haircuts seem sort (or shoulder length) is because if it gets too long they have to rig it or apply physics to the individual hair models right? If they don't do it right, then the hair intercepts the body and looks corny. It would take a chunk of time to do it right...but is it really worth it?

Posted ImagePosted ImageYes, I realize that there are limits to what they can do technologically, but I still would like nice hair.  Should it be their number one priority?  No.  But it would be nice to have them improved, and I'm not really worried about it.  They've said they wanted the character creator to be better and I wouldn't say that the first one was bad; the hair was just a bit limited.

Non related to the recent discussion, I just wanted to say that the new system with only one race (male or female human) is a relief for me, because I will now certainly go through the game three times, once with each class. Back in DA : O I had to check out every origin story, made up my mind on race, class, etc. I understand a lot of players would like to be able to play Dwarf or Elf, but that's just my two cents.

What's wrong with having a variety?  In any case, I doubt all DA2 haircuts will be "butch."  I don't even agree that all of Shepard's haircuts were "butch."

No. Hawke is the surname of the player character (regardless of gender) in DA2. You can set the first name, just like in origins, but the surname will always be Hawke.
