I hope DA2 is better than the first. I wasn't all that impressed as I should have been with the first one.

If they can nix the travel only by map bit, decrease load times, and put some flair into the level design, I'll be happy.

Those three things killed it for me.

Thank you.

I am a bit disappointed.  We'll all have to wait and see as more details are made available.

Some one made a good point earlier that this isn't Dragon Age: Origins 2.

It's Dragon Age 2.

It's like Final Fantasy where every new story is different.

Sequel doesn't necessarily mean that the second installment should follow the very same storyline. Like I said in the other thread, I bet the Warden's story is just a prequel to Hawke's story. I mean why would Bioware say Hawke's the single most important character in the Dragon Age universe? Dragon Age is His story and not the Warden's.

I guess it depends on what you're definition of sequel actually means. For me it means a continuation of the original story. Batman 1, batman 2 -- new story, same character. Seeeee!

Well yeah, if the title indicates its about Batman.  But Dragon Age doesn't signify just your Warden, who is just one part of the story.

Voiced human only PC with dialogue wheel. Three things that concern me, is this Dragon Effect 2?

That's not an automatic deal-breaker, but as i favored elf characters in Origins, i'm not excatly jumping in joy at that. The info so far seems interesting enough to keep an eye out got this, though.

We know the combat on the PC version is the same for the most part. And as such I will be pre-ordering.

Exactly it's not Grey Warden 2.

How do you figure when the first title only starts the game from your origin, when you hit Lothering it's the same game for everyone regardless of your origin.  When the title to the new game is actually DA 2 -- implies continuation of the first story, the warden's story,  thus use of word sequel, which the few details released on the new game, show it is not.  DA: Free Marches might be a better idea for a title, at least something to this effect won't be misleading.

If this is the what they wanted, hell then this damn Hawke should have been in Origins and not let people have hopes and build up a  the warden to be a nothing, makes me hate them all for this kind of ****!

Not to be nothing - you built a Warden to save Ferelden from the Blight.  That is what Bioware said and nowhere did they mislead anyone.  That is what Grey Wardens are for...

We get that DAO has left many things unfinished (Morrigans baby for one) and are disappointed that instead of finishing this stuff first, DA2 will be a new story. This is like reading a book till the last chapter and then being forced to switch to another one. Sure, that one might be epic (or not we don't know yet) but the switch is kind of disappointing.

I think, that story will continue, just from another pov. Also, about woman on poster - it appears to me, that that could be Flemeth/Morrigan after consuming old gods' essence.

I'm not so sure. Remeber that DAO had many different endings. Since Awakening allowed the Warden to continue his life we can assume that the Ultimate Sacrifice ending is not canon. The way DA2 seems to be set up however looks like Bioware is hesitant to go with one of the other endings of DAO. If DA2 has Morrigan and her baby the Dark Ritual happened. I believe they won't decide about DAOs endings now and that makes DA2 less of a true sequel. I might be wrong ofc, but from what is know its hard to believe we'll see Morrigan, the Warden or any other of DAO cast in DA2.

Since Flemeth is in the game then obviously Morrigan is in it too.  Since Morrigan is in it, then obviously they will address the God baby situation.  Since Flemeth and Morrigan are both in the game, then it's a pretty good bet that other companion's fates will be revealed as well, including the Warden's.  This is definitely a sequel and not a re-hash of the first one.

Flemeth being in game is not proof that Morrigan is in it. For one thing, why would they state outright that Flemeth is in it, but not say the same about Morrigan? If they're keeping Morrigan secret, then why not keep Flemeth a secret too?

As there will be more DA:O DLC before DA2 comes out, I'm thinking the Morrigan/GodBaby situation will be resolved that way. However it ends up (happy ending or sad), I highly doubt at the end of it that Morrigan will continue to be this mysterious, inscrutable figure. We're going to get closure, I'm sure of it. And bringing her back in a game without the Warden would just be cruel.

Anyway, it's possible that Morrigan IS in the game, but it's far from "obvious."

Its DA2, not DAO2.

I love how people are totally not giving the dialogue wheel a chance. Chris Priestly, David Gaider, everyone at Bioware's pretty much right.

People love to hate. Especially when they have no idea how it will actually work until they play it.

It's not that people love to hate, it's just they hate when you take the game and make is  Mass Age.

Do you see Mass Age in the ads? Have you seen Mass Effect and Dragon Age merged into the same game? Nope.

So your argument is invalid.

It is obvious.  Flemeth needs Morrigan, they are both integral to each other's story.  They don't want to go off and reveal Morrigan right away because they probably have big plans for her they will reveal later.

I would be delighted to have a DLC that explains what happens with the Warden and Morrigan but I think her story with her child is too big for just a DLC.
