Not sure if the OP has seen yet, but according to the leaked youtube footage, Carver dies (potentially, no idea if it's guaranteed).

Judging by the cutscenes in the Rise to Power trailer with both Carver and Bethany in them, I'm guesing it isn't guaranteed. Plus the fact that David Gaider has specifically stated (about that particular instance) that that is only one possible end result.

i agree with you but another problem and maybe the most important, the graphics which we can see from the second trailer that they suck, and of course the apperiance of the darkspawn.someone said that darkspawn are like this because they were supposed to be humans but i saw in a video that when bioware create dragon age the plan was to make them so scare that you would think that you cant kill them and that worked.so there is no better reason to change their apperiance because they were just humans than being scaryDragon Age1103 wrote...
Wish I would of found this post a long time ago bc now I am very excited for Dragon Age II! I'm still extremely disappointed in the new and sure to be limited dialogue system that just pulls me out of the game BUT knowing or feeling pretty confident from everything I've read that PC will still have a tactical combat system instead of a mainstream mindless hack n slash system like all the console previews shown of the combat so far puts me at ease.

Broodmothers give birth to them and their appearance changes depending on the Broodmother species:
Quoting:
" Each type of darkspawn is born from a different broodmother: Humans produce hurlocks, dwarves produce genlocks, elves give birth to shrieks, and from qunari are born the ogres."

You can roleplay, you can change your first name, you can change your appearance + voice, you will have the 3 main classes and from there you may get an "sub-class".
Don't judge the game yet, there are many things that are still being done.
Its true that Bioware is investing more in something new, but thats ins't a bad thing, we have to give a step to atcually know if its bad or not.
The fact that you can't play as other races have been explained millions of times, Origins like its name, was the introduction of the DA world, to understand each race, their ideals and customes. If it wans't for that you would't even be able to play them in the first place. They allowed you to that, now we need to move on.
Also this is the story of Hawke, an human who will change the DA unniverse, it could be a dwarf, it could be an elf, but its a human. In fact, I like that way, if they made the main character as a Dwarf I would've been pissed, because I don't like dwarfs.
There will always be people who will complain about it, so they opted for the "lesser" evil.

Looking at the screenshots for the inventory and skills seem very limited. I'm hoping the RPG elements are not treated like Mass Effect 2 which for me was a disaster.

The start is decided the end is just a choice, one of maybe 8 in total . In Oblivion made character that was a wanderer never bothered with main quest at all was only there to make money done all little side quests and guild plus tomb raiding had bought houses and shops never finished main still got up to very high level ,also had hero type done main didn't bother with sides etc, you can level up in Oblivion without fighting ie: sneak past people just by talking to npcs , picking locks etc where has roleplay go on from here ? downloaded 100s off mods for Oblivion from houses to pet shops to mini quests in fact still play Oblivion .Done dragon age +awakening once could not be bothered again .Only thing missing from Oblivion was companion but had tiger roam around with character instead

The screenshots I saw - presumably we're thinking of the same ones, Russian language - looked like the classes had just as much depth as DA:O with the exception that archery and DW were removed from warriors. Which we've known for a while.

So, there is no pants slot in the inventory screen?
Nope, not that I can think of a Bioware game that had one. Still, I could just be drawing a blank.

No. this was the ogre. When the designed the ogre and the first encounter in the tower, they wanted you to believe it was impossible to defeat. they clearly said other darkspawn were inteded to be related to humans.hanibal.gr wrote...

Sorry for going on but they want us to buy their game + dlc +expansions starting at £40 +and there not bothered about role playing ,ie back to dice and paper. i have always played an elven archer stealth being v important ,in the elder scrolls 4 the first person camera excellent ,brilliant, superb looking down the arrow watching your prey (brilliant) ,make the kill then going back into the shadows and waiting for the next to walk past ,you where there in the game ( you cant see behind you which is right ).so you crept past to see how many there looked for a spot where you can pick them off one by one pulled back your bow string ,zoomed in on your target ,then let fire to see head shot throw him accross the room lol. archery in dragon age is **** sorry but thats how i feel all i want is to escape into the game live the game when playing .Bioware living on baldurs gate pedestal one of the best games ever let alone role play also loved icewind dale but not gone forward (backwards) ?Fhyll Do Vin wrote...

Nothing beyond the concept art. I'm willing to bet at least one of our companions will be an elf, though, so who knows; maybe it'll be the next one revealed.Luigitornado wrote...
