Any word on if we will get another mabari warhound or some other kind of pet, for me that was the best thing about the first game
The best thing? If you're serious about that, Fable 2 (I didn't play 3) delivers a much better dog-sidekick experience.

I don't know, I was kinda hoping that if we do get an animal companion, it would be different from a Marbari. Maybe, oh, I don't know... a hawk? lol I think that would be kinda cool, plus whenever I interacted with it I could snicker to myself and say, "Oh, the irony."II That Burn In Ya Ass II wrote...

Or, as I've mentioned in another thread, a spitting llama that could be used as a renegade interrupt system with crabby NPC's. EXTREMELY useful.

I am still not sold on this game and it will be the first Bioware game I am not going to pre order since that option became commonly available. I will buy the game upon the release of a functioning toolset and the development of a modding community. The direction of the game doesn't bother me so much as I don't really get hyped about games without mods anymore. Otherwise I will wait until it's on sale for 29.99 CAD or less.
As to the tactical camera...well, there have been many times when wanting to cast a Fireball or Blizzard on the ground or I wanted to shoot an enemy that was quite far away, when I have found it necessary to scroll all the way out and shift the screen a bit. This isn't a huge blow as it will just require a change in tactics (put all the melee fighters in fire resistance gear I guess).
As for tightening up the game and voice acting, I am pretty pleased with the direction. I do wish the people giving interviews would adopt less juvenile language when describing the game as it always makes me wince "button = awesome" being the worst talking point ever, well outside of those used by a certain American "News" network.
I am not thrilled with the art so far but have only really seen older footage. Am I wrong or is the impressive Ogre from DAO now just a big ugly guy with horns?
I still have faith in Bioware, so we'll see, but really the only reason I still pay attention is because of how much I love DAO, most of the hype news put out by the devs has been eroding that goodwill.
The side by side development with the console version is not something I am in love with but am resigned to, it's the way the market is going and nothing is going to change it. If you believe you get the same game you are deluded. I have played RPGs on the consoles, and I have owned them all, but I always end up buying and loving a PC version more. Games are becoming less complex and involved as they move towards the console market, and that's not necessarily bad as test results show that the population is becoming less complex and involved, play to the audience as they say. I can still cycle through NWN 1& 2, BG 1& 2, Jade Empire; KoToR 1 & 2; and a few other non Bioware properties if I want great RPG experiences.

Seriously, Dan Lazin is nerdorable. I had to invent that word because of him.
That is so cool about the couple who named their twin daughters Morrigan and Leliana, and it was the wife's idea... that rocks so freaking much. So does the story about the marine who corrected them in thinking it wasn't realistic and said she'd beheaded something exactly like Aveline did... love those stories.
I also loved the talk about the flowing hair/armor, the sexy shimmy depending on whether it makes sense for the character in question, the body differences by class... I was particularly wondering whether we were all going to be stuck with the same model regardless of how many playthroughs we do, so it's nice to know that we won't be.
Aveline's arms do look great, I noticed that. Seriously, the concept art for her is so fantastic, and the finished product looks great too. They really found a nice balance; she doesn't look steroidal or manly but she does look muscular, which is perfect for a female warrior. More the latest incarnation of Nikita than Arnold Schwarzeneggar or Twiggy.
And the mention of nutella... "I wanted to answer a question about nutella!" that is SO NERDORABLE. He was really understanding towards the fans getting upset about trivial stuff, too; it made me want to hug him. I can't be alone in that. (I mean, seriously, he is so cute. Even before he started whipping up his sleeves to show off his arms and then showing off his staff. )
I am so looking forward to this game. 99% of what I hear sounds more or less strictly positive to me. I think I'm going to love it enough for other reasons to overlook the lack of dwarf PCs, and I think they're on a serious roll here. You can hear it/see it in the interviews.

So... How is it a sequal?
No Warden?
No Morrigan ending?
No Morrigan's child?
No return of old favorite characters?
All new adventure?
Anyone else as dissapointed as I am? I mean They didnt exactly put an ending on the 1st one.
As much as I LOVED the 1st one I'm not exicted about the next
Dunno if its true or not but it seems hinted that the signature edition playable character might be a warden.

I couldn't help but notice... who's that guy on the right, next to Aveline? He looks like Anders (mage from Awakening)... does that mean he's going to be a returning follower? Or is he someone completely different? (Sorry if this is not the right place to post this, as it is not exactly conclusive, but it was a nice shot of the party)

I think that might be Aveline's husband, the sword-sniffing lady. Not sure.
Is it just me or does that elf in the far left look green?
And if a companion from Awakening is to return, I suspect it would be Nathaniel as he squired in the Free Marches during the Blight.

Sighhh..... I really shouldn't have been drawn into gaming by DAO. You never forget your first love. With all the consolization going on, and EA's president being retarded enough to say single player games are dying, maybe I should have started with COD multiplayer. At least that claims to stay free for the foreseeable future, and there are millions of idiot 12 year olds with consoles, enough to keep my fix going for a good while.
Sighhh.... /rant

If it's the former, that would be a bit upsetting for some people. A new character that plays a part in the story is not exactly something minor in my book.
