Could also mean that there is plenty of time for DA2 to still take place in the Dragon Age after DAO. Some are speculating that DA2 takes place before DAO."More than half" of the Dragon Age left by the time Awakening begins
I don't get what this means.
no Da 2 happens while Da:o is happening just sayin:D

I think it briefly overlaps Origins, doesn't it? Hawke and co. flee from Lothering right after the Warden leaves it.
Yes, so Dragon Age2 happens during Origins/Awakening and then some.

the warden in the first game had the taint that prevented him or her having children (a side from God child later) Hawke doesn't have that as far as we know.

I'm not sure why, but I think that would be a bit complicated.TTTX wrote...
since this game spans around 10 years can Hawke have a kid during the time?

Now that's not entirely true is it? Even without the dark ritual the epilogue heavily implies that Morrigan may have gotten pregnant at an earlier point, yet this has to have been after the Warden's joining ritual due to the confirmation that the child is his in Witch Hunt.
I may be entirely off, but that's the way I remember it.
I really don't like the idea of my protagonist having children but I certainly don't mind it being included should it remain optional.

they should come out with a dlc that completly ends the first one or create a new game that takes your choices from both and allows you to find out what the F*** happened to your kid, or at least create one where you are the kid just putting it out there
I don't think they'll make DLC where you are a completely new character.

It starts at Lothering and goes ten years, so Origins would be ending (including Witch Hunt) at year 3.5.

It isn't impossible for a Grey Warden to have children, it's just improbable. I think Gaider said Grey Wardens can't have children with each other (to the misfortune of the warden-queens of Ferelden), but they can with other people. Maric had a kid with a Grey Warden. Morrigan had one, conditionally, with or without accepting her offer, it's true.
As for whether the child shares its Warden parent's taint, I'm not sure. I think Gaider also said it would not, but don't hold me to it.
If Hawke has a child, I imagine it would be towards the end of the game like for the Warden in Origins.

--i just logged onto this account after a really long time and this is the only thread ive looked at so far about this.
i know that we are restricted to picking humans, and we can still pick different classes...my question is...can you at least change the look of your character? (hair, eyes, etc.) like the first one? =/ i saw that you could change your skin color but it wasnt laid out in black and white exactly

The only thing for sure is that Morrigan is with child and that it is during the ritual, not before. I played as a female and had Alistair do the ritual and then played witch hunt where I was able to ask about the child and Morrigan says that the child is fine and that she considered me her only friend. So no matter what, the child was conceived during the ritual.

Absolutely. I agree. They left DAO without a compelling ending if you were a male warden and did the ritual with Morrigan but for female wardens, the ending wasn't much better. I'd love to have another DAO game with the same npc. You get to know them and really like them after playing the game 7 times. I'm not sure that DA2 will give me the same thing since it's voiced. We'll see. Mass Effect/Mass Effect 2 were great games and I played them both 4 times, but there is just something I love about DAO. DAO, in my opinion (as an author), was epic. Many might not agree, but it is an opinion after all.
