It will be similar to mass effect in that you can change Hawke's gender, class and face but the character will be the same.

Friendly Fire is only active on Nightmare difficulty. [Peter Thomas] This includes Warrior basic attacks, but they will only deal 1/10th the damage to party members. [Peter Thomas] 12/18
Pretty sure it's not. It came straight from Peter Thomas, and if anyone would know it'd be him. His first sentence (at the link provided) is "Friendly fire is only on Nightmare." Not many ways that can be misconstrued.FaeQueenCory wrote...

A sad face!
The saddest face!
I hope that's a misheard statement..
Really, it's kind of stupid. They can make clothing and hair wave in the wind, but not animate a simple bowstring? Either they're being lazy, or the engine they're working with is terrible.M8DMAN wrote...
Still no Bowstrings? WTF BIOWARE?
LOL. Not only did this all have to hit on a day when I'm working 12 hours, but it's also in a week where I'm working 60. Figures.Bryy_Miller wrote...

I found that statement a few hours later.... Oh well... One could always hope against reason that it gets changed before release.SirOccam wrote...

A bit of info about Mama Hawke & other family members
greywardens.com/2010/12/family-in-dragon-age-2/
And:When you get to Kirkwall, however, and move forward in time, she has her own life and location; a house. After five hours with the game, Hawke’s mother was looking like a detailed character, with quests to complete on her behalf, based on her background and history. There’s uncles and extended family involved too.
It's nice to see that family life will be as organic and fraught as real life. I like the sense of stepping into a world which has not been waiting for me, but rather welcomes me into its own complicated web. What made this rivalry relationship so believable were the moments where the sibling interjected with a “story” from childhood, or blatantly challenged Hawke on a decision in a way that an another follower would never. I was also getting a sense that this sibling might be competition for a love interest, but that is purely speculation on my part.
My overriding feeling was that I wanted to protect my sibling, but that my sibling was acting according to their own agenda.
