Hello everyone, and I'm sorry to bother you, but I need help.
I want the signature edition, so I will have to preorder it pretty soon.
The problem is, I know nothing about computer specs and stuff like that.
Is there any way to check if I am able to run it? Perhaps compare it to other games?

I can run COD: Black ops multiplayer and DA:Origins
Thank you if you can help me, and sorry for being such a "noob".

The specs are in the DAII announcement forums.

Yes, I know that, but that doesn't mean I understand them. That is why I am asking for help.

Has there been anything official about the length of the game? I keep seeing comments in this forum stating that DA2 is going to be significantly shorter than DA:O, but no sources.

You could give this website a try: Can You Run It?

DAII isn't listed yet but you can try other games that are currently out.

Bethany is dead when you're a wizard and Carver dies when you're a warrior.

What happens when you're a rogue? You choose who dies? or save the two brothers?

Dev's have stated Signature Edition will not be on steam but they're other ways to get in online like that. Check the EA store or whatever list they have. I think D2D or whatever thats called has it.

That all our decisions made in DA1 are going to the trash can on DA2.

Why?
1) Dragon Age: Origins screenshot
2) Dragon Age: Awakening screenshot

On DA:A you have the option to create a totally new and unknown Grey Warden or import you DA:O character.

The screenshots are from save files of my main character, in the ending of both games (I blocked any spoiler). DA:O has a "post-campaign save", but DA:A doesn't. Now I don't think that BioWare would want to make the customers of DA:A insatisfied by allowing the import of key-decisions of DA:O plot but ignoring DA:A plot.

I'm not unsatisfied. I loved the original game and the expansion, they are the best PC rpgs that I ever played, but it kinda sucks to read something like this on DA2 site:
Key features:
1) Embark upon an all-new adventure that takes place across an entire
decade and shapes itself around every decision you make.

Im just sad because I loved the characters from the first sooo much.  Hoping this is going to be as good as they say..... been waitin long enough!

Umm... But Bioware confirmed that you can import save file from Origins, and choices from Origins itself, Awakening and DLC matter in DA 2. You won't get the character, but you will see how your choices impact the world.

Desire Demon appeared in a photo of the Dragon Age Legends . Perhaps she can appear in DA2.

I want her playable.

Some notice?

DA 2 needs only a 7 GB of your disk drive. DA Origins with expansion and all DLC packs takes more than 20 GB. I think a answer is obvious.

Could you clarify that? Without drawing conclusions at the lenght or amount of content, it seems to me that size doesn't have to mean anything. It can, but it doesn't have to. Just take ME1 and ME2 for example, I for one had more playtime in one playthrough in the first game, still it's less than half the size of the second one.

"Ok, to alleviate your worries (I know it won't in those who want to see something negative, but I'll try) here is why it is 7GB instead of a higher number. 3 main points.

1. - We used a different compression scheme in DA II than DAO (something called "ogg" I am told).

2. - 2 less fully VOed langauages

3. - Optimized mesh data, physics and lighting (which I am told reduces the footprint of environments by close to 75%)

I know some will still doom and gloom, but the game is 7GB because we are better at making games. So, now that you have some reasons why the game is 7GB I hope this will calm some of you down." --Evil Chris Priestly

'Nuff said.

Seeing as "can you run it" doesn't have dragon age 2 yet I figured I might as well point you in the right direction.

To see what CPU you have, open the windows menu and type dxdiag in the search/run window and press enter.

The first page that pops up gives you the specifications of your CPU. To see how this stands up to the recommended specs I'd advice you to check this list: http://www.tomshardw...ock,2772-6.html

For the recommended specifications you will want your CPU to be displayed in one of the top three tiers.

The RAM is displayed just below your CPU, if you're running XP you will need 2 GB worth of ram (2048 MB) to meet recommended specifications. If you're running Vista or Windows 7 you'll need 4 GB (4096 MB).

Then go to the second tab that should say display (not sure as my dxdiag is in swedish, however it's simply the second tab from the left). At the top left it should give you the name of your video card, which you can compare to the recommended specs here: http://www.tomshardw...ade,2803-7.html

Here, to meet the recommended specifications your video card should be displayed in one of the top 9 tiers (the higher the better of course) or, for direct x 11 graphics, in the top 3 tiers.

Hope this helps, I'll check in on the thread from time to time if you need help.

To every one who is complaning or does not like changes there is only one thing to do dont buy the game. If you buy it all you do is support what changes have been made change will not happen unless you make it instead of buying the game dont buy it and if sales are low they will see what there fans want and if not well lets just say there fans can move on.

The absolutely terrible Mako missions are what inflated that playtime greatly.  It also did not have as complex, nor as many companion sidequests (which is some of the reason ME2 is a larger folder).

I'm glad they manage to reduce the hardware size to only 7 gb. Honestly, 20 GB was absurd.

Pitrus, thanks for yer help. It seems I have over 8000 MB ram and im running windows 7, so it should be all right.

Tier 4 CPU, so I guess it will run.

I have a Nvidia graphics card, but Nvidia cards dont appear to be on your list (I guess).

Just a little question about the "can you run it" website. It has given me such a lot of misinformation, that I really can't trust it anymore! I run Call of Duty Black Ops perfectly fine on normal settings, but it told me I don't even meet minimum requirements! Same with Civilization V. Have you guys really found it trustworthy?
