You're assuming the child was a boy.
Actually, if you refer to the lore about Dragons, the High Dragons, i.e. the ones like the "fake" Andraste in the Urn quest, are female. The smaller Drakes are the males. The High Dragons are somewhat nomadic, and the Drakes hunt and provide for them while they are nesting what will then become Dragonlings, which can grow up to be either male or female.
So by this rationale, if the so-called God-baby is to become a High Dragon it would need to be female, or the plot would need an awful lot of splaining about the sex change involved!

So the drakes and the high dragons mate? Aren't the drakes a little.... short for that?

Nobody can be certain what gender the child is (like you seem to be). The only things we know about it are who it's parents are(Morrigan and either the Warden, Loghain, or Alistair) and that it's a "god baby". Just because all the Archdemons were male, doesn't mean Morrigan's baby is male. Because I don't recall any of the Archdemons being born from a woman's womb, do you? Therefore, the baby could be male or female.

I'm pretty sure Morrigan says the baby is male in Witch Hunt.

Don't you mean two and a half years into Dragon Age 2?
Oh ho. Oh ho ho ho.

That rather depends on how they mate. Maybe they are like anglerfish and the male parasitically attaches to the much larger female! All right, it's probably not that. However, there are quite a few species in the animal kingdom where the female is dramatically larger and things still manage to work out somehow.

All of your questions can be answered by actually reading the forum.
Nobody has yet to have said why it's Mass Effect. All people have said is that the features are different and/or changed. Which is every single RPG ever. So "Mass Effect" is a meaningless buzzword.
Yes, you can customize your character just as in every single BioWare game to date.

We are thinking not. In one of the podcasts someone (I think it was Laidlaw) mentioned Isabela favoring her daggers or something. It's not exactly iron-clad, but it seems to be conclusive enough.Venn wrote...

I'd have to find it, but it was actually confirmed (on a thread) that 'Bela won't have access to Archery, but will get instead that swashbuckler

Fenris.

In one or two of the earlier videos shown, I think, combat was shown from a very close distance that really upped the realism and really made it feel like an action RPG. The camera was situated at the ground level, often from behind Hawke's shoulder, so that you could really feel like you were in the action, and saw every animation from a short distance away. In later videos, combat was shown from far, faaar overhead, much like we were used to in DA:O. The party members looked much more like game pieces, and the amount of distance made everything less exciting.
Is the second one the way things are going to be, or is it just how it has to be for consoles?

But one thing caught my eye, the preview stated that Fenris was a mage. I wonder whether this is an error, or if it means Fenris is going to be some kind of unique Arcane Warrior (he could have his exclusive skilltree)... But if it is correct, that means that we only know about one warrior, and thus there is another one that hasn't been revealed...

Yeah, it's some kind of error on their part. Fenris is definitely not a mage.Steingrimur Steingrimsson wrote...
Just read in the German version of PC Gamer (well read is a bit of an overstatement, I literally translated it word-for-word, since my basic german is beyond rusty) that Merrill is going to be a playable companion, too bad they only provided an Origins picture of her. This will be interesting for all dalish origin Warden imports. Too bad I do not have one... But I am going to play throug that origin again, can't really remember much about her, other than being a damage dealing mage and that I stole her Tevinter Robes (I wonder if such an action will have any impact on DAII... )

I figured as much, but an old cheap Arcane Warrior is aloved to dream, isn't he?

The second one is the new pulled out view. You should be able to use either.

Is this still true? Does that mean that their face doesn't change, but the hair/skin colour/outfits change. A little like Fable. Hmm, so long as there are enough styles to make my different playthroughs feel unique, I won't mind. One issue I had with Fable 3 is that your character always looks basically the same.
The Carver and Bethany chosen-by-class thing sounds interesting. I usually play as mages, and would've loved to have mage sisters. I'm curious about their personalities. I mean, if for example Carver is all saintly and Bethany is ruthless (or vice versa), it'll certainly make things interesting considering how many playthroughs would result. Nice.
I know someone might hit me and say 'read the forum posts', but there are 146 pages.
