It's a way to prevent what a lot of people did in Origins -> talk to everyone at camp till all dialogue options are gone.M8DMAN wrote...
WHAT! Thats insane! Why can't we just talk to them instead of them having to come to us?bluewolv1970 wrote...
So in reading the updates for today, we cannot speak with companions at all on missions (like in mass effect) and we can only talk with them at there home base when they iniate the conversation (via a note in our journal - unlike mass effect 2 wherer we could talk with them anytime)...so essentially the companion conversation is actually less than in mass effect 2?
They don't want that in DA2, because it makes no sense to interrrogate people like that.
I believe that during quests there are sometimes moments that some of the companions will make a comment and that Hawke can talk with them about it, but I'm not completely sure about that.
It always bugged me how I could do that (speeding relationships up), so I'm actually happy about this change.
except now you cannot actually even initiate the relationship as I understand it...you have to wait until they send you a journal message saying they like you I guess...at least while in mass effect 2 you did not tlak with squad members on missions (which I understand) when you were on the normandy you could talk with them anytime and it did not speed up hte romances at alll...now we cannot EVER initiate dialogue with anyone without a journal entry first...that means we cna never proactively talk with someone
