I really hope that there will be more companions then what they are telling us...to only have around the same amount of friends in this game compared to Origins, that would just be strange. You would think your all powerfull dude/gal can make more friends and keep more company in 10 years then the warden could in one lol
Laidlaw mentioned that there will be at least two companions from each class (Mage, Warrior and Rogue). So somewhere between 6 and 8 my guess would be.

Sebestian, Isabella & Varric =Rogues
Bethany & Marril = Mages.
So we have almost a full compliment, plus perhaps one more mage or warrior.

Another mage is needed for those who don't get Bethany.

:3 Marrill is a water based Pokemon. It's spelt Merrill.
Also, Aveline*.

At least one more mage, I think. Bethany would die on mine, leaving only Hawke and Merrill as mages.

I don't mind the fact that we won't be able to talk with teammates anywhere unless they talk to me first. It always seemed out of place for me. I mean my other teammates just stand there and watch us talk about random stuff. Now if the others gave some insight then I would like it. That's my opinion on that.
On Flemeth, it would be interesting to know why she is dressed like she is. Maybe she decided that now that Morrigan's out of the house, she brings out the fancy clothes. It could just be Varric's storytelling but it's something to think about. It looks like that no matter what Bioware goes with this, they can't go wrong in terms of what I'm looking forward to.

I thought there was a chance to them both alive regardless of your class. I could be wrong

This seems unlikely, though we don't technically have a direct statement saying that one of them will die no matter what.da0Xeffect wrote...

Yes, it does seem conflicting. One article I read was that they will die, then another was may die. I believe the consensus think one will die.

Mass Effect 2 companions would do that. Origins companions, however, occasionally took part in our conversations with npcs. For example, at the scene of Red Cliff's prison. Alistair and Morrigan interestingly interrupt our conversation with Jowan. I found their argument remarkable where that was the first time I saw Alistair getting mad with the idea of releasing a blood mage. Also, at Tavern near Red Cliff's village, Morrigan interestingly burst out angry/jealousy comment when you kiss Bella after saving the village.da0Xeffect wrote...

I agree. Flemeth's redesign although nice, looks way too different to be recognized on the spot unlike others like the hurlocks. In fact, one of previews mistakenly identified her as a sorceress due to her dress. IMO, she's too elegant and look younger than Flemeth's Origins.da0Xeffect wrote...

PS:Neither Bethany nor Carver is romanceable.

& i thought that one sibling dying was confirmed because if not then you don't really need anymore party members
i hope the devs don't say anything on this one ....it would be a great surprise but i could also be letting myself to huge let down aswell

No. The only thing that matters are your save files if you want to import anything. When the time gets closer, there will probably be a discussion on where to put the DAO save files so the DA2 game can find it. Even then, you don't really need those save files since DA2 offers three different default builds to pick from if you just want to hit the ground running.schalafi wrote...
Forgive me if this has been asked and answered, I can't wade through 155 pages. I just was wondering if DA:O has to be installed in order to play DA2. Does anyone know?

sorry to disapoint...Bioware has already confirmed the sibling thing. If you make a warrior or rogue then Carver dies, if you make a mage Bethany dies. It's an unchangeing fact set in stone.
I totally believe it, but I can't add it if I don't also include a link.

Also Gaider said Flemeth looked like a crippled old woman on purpose to try to get the Warden's sympathy or whatever her reasons were. The point is she looks different to different people on purpose for different reasons.
That's interesting about Flemeth. I wonder if Morrigan knows this or maybe Flemeth has her under a spell where she is completely oblivious to it. I know Morrigan is this strong willed and very hard to fool but Flemeth basically made her.
