Wow, this thread used to be useful. Wish you guys could take the arguing elsewhere. We barely know anything of the game so far and there's not much of a foundation to formulate any "the game is doomed!" or "the game will be the best game ever!" opinions on. I do hope the OP is still keeping the original post updated even if the rest of their thread has turned into fanboi versus non-fanboi shenanigans. Funny how a thread about FACTS has turned into nothing but a trainwreck of OPINIONS on what the game MIGHT be like.

Welcome to the Bioware Forums.

Yeah, reminds me why I went on sabbatical when the first bit of Awakening news hit these forums a few months back. David Gaider and the crew must have a much thicker skin than I to put up with this.

Use Gaider's approach to posting.

Type out what you want to say, but don't post it.

Leave for 10 minutes, and read it. Sound harsh? Then tone it down.

He does what he can, but its friggen hard.

Thanks for the good advice, it is refreshing to see a reasonable post around here! I just see so many other "debate threads" that I was hoping we could rely on at least this one to present us with all the known facts of DA 2 without all the "what if" dramas. Sigh, too much to hope for? Anyway, kudos to the OP for starting it, good luck keeping it on topic :)

Razor can keep it on topic. If anything, I wish that one post could be stickied, and all the other posts be deleted.

It's not that hard. I just assume that nothing factual will ever be posted here in this thread. I just cut it right out of my awareness, as though with a...some kind of...really sharp blade or something.

You know, stemming from the information that's out so far, I think I'll just be happy if the mage hats stop looking like something that stepped out of a Dr. Seuss book.

Who knows, maybe the new elements will actually work really well for what they have planned. Sure, some of the info is disappointing, but game franchises can't really evolve if they stick to the same elements over and over again. I'd rather have "potentially slightly manhandled" DA than no DA at all. And really, it probably won't even be that bad. My main hope was that they would let us keep interacting with our party members, and that seems like it's a go even if the process has changed.

....I think I just filled my optimism quota.

Optimism's a whole lot better than negativity, so good on you.

Yeah I don't know how David and the other devs put up with some of the rude people on this forum.

Would not even be worth saving a small village when an entire nation is at risk.

But I thought they were never gonna' give them up, let them down, run around and desert them?

Goddamn you beautiful, beautiful man.

Hawke knows the rules, and so do they. ;)

This has cover potential, but I'm mediocre at photoshop

The fun part of this whole conversation is in about a month this will all be moot points. More info will be out and everything we speculated on here will be whoops guess not.

I'm scared for this game. I love DA:O and I played through it multiple times for different classes and Origins. With this, I don't see how a indirect sequel will satisfy me. Why did I play the first game 5 times or so if I can't import them to this game in a real sense. (Not saying we can't be a party member through importing, but I doubt it.) My girlfriend loved DA:O too, but when I told her about this she seemed mad and like she didn't want to play it. I can't say I don't share the same sentiment. I put my hopes and dreams in your hands Bioware. I trust you to not steer me wrong. Seems like your games are the only ones I buy nowadays. Played ME2 4 times in a row and I'm currently on my 6th playthrough. Don't let me down.

Page six? Really? For shame, this is a useful thread.

Anyway, don't know if this belongs, but GI confirmed there will be multiple narrators.

"At the current point in the timeline, Hawke is already the Champion of Kirkwall. Narrators with unique insights into the events in question will tell the tale of his past adventures."
