Yeah, he's not a Warden.

So Mike Hawke is what he shall be named.

At least for me.

I think this is the more common sentiment amongst people who initially thought doom and gloom upon seeing some of the changes.  They haven't read into (or choose not to) what is actually happening.

I am excited for this game.......I like how this is the possibility of greater conflict between party members. This was one of my hopes for DA2. Nine months of waiting for DA2.......

Page six? Really? For shame, this is a useful thread.

Anyway, don't know if this belongs, but GI confirmed there will be multiple narrators.

"At the current point in the timeline, Hawke is already the Champion of Kirkwall. Narrators with unique insights into the events in question will tell the tale of his past adventures."

Just curious, was this a post somewhere? Or from the magazine? If the former, do you have a link by chance?

Yes, it was from the GI. You can look it up. I am too tired and must sleep.

"I saw "Narrators with unique insights into the events in question will tell the tale of his past adventures" at Gaming Everything, but I never saw the sentence before...that's pretty significant. It explains a lot in regards to the dual, seemingly-contradictory descriptions of Hawke. The answer is they're both in the past because everything's in the past. Cool.

Guess I'll go ahead and add it...hopefully they put it online at some point.

I found the link on another thread here: http://www.gamefaqs....rigins/55578777. I don't have GI so I have no idea how accurate that is, but I thought that those that do might confirm it.

Don't Wynne say, at some point during the game, that it has been almost a year now?  Or something similiar.

The framed narrative structure could be a very interesting concept. A few questions emerge, though. Who is the person to whom the story is being told to? And what's his/her interest in Hawke?

Also, because the story is being told in different chapters... probably from different narrators along the game, you can see some events in a non-chronological sequence. Meaning some unexplained things about Hawke's past can be revealed during the game, referring to his own past.

This could be a great concept, it is certainly ambitious, but will it work as a game. I mean, RPG's are usually open and have a feel of freedom. Will this narrative structure feel to contrived? I mean, I'm very confident that it will be a great story, but will it have the potential to explore alternate and equally fulfilling storylines, so as not to jeopardize its re-playability factor?

Not sure if it's been mentioned already, but the German magazine GameStar revealed a couple of NPCs:

Bethany (Hawke's sister, mage, joinable NPC),
Cassandra (Inquisitor),
Varric (dwarfen narrator)
and Flemeth.

There are also two new screenshots. http://www.gamestar....agon_age_2.html

I hope somebody is going to translate it better, Google says about Cassandra: "The Inquisitor has a burning interest in the hero did Hawkes."

ETA: Great find, thank you.
