Yes.. he did it: Post from David Gaider yesterday

1) Repeatedly making threads on the subject will not make Morrigan come back to your Warden sooner.
2) You will need to wait and see what (and if anything) happens with Morrigan in the future. Insofar as DA2 is concerned, the Warden's story is done. I'm sorry if that upsets you, but that's simply the way it is.

Aaaaannndddd.... where, exactly, does that say that Morrigan absolutely WILL NOT appear in DA2?
Cause I'm not seeing that at all.

In my opinion he couldn't be more clear..
But it's also true that everybody can see different things behind a single sentence...
Let's delay this debat after we'll have played DA2, and then we'll see who is right... Personally, after those words I don't expect to see her again for a long long time, Maybe I am wrong who knows?

One more thing: I'm not trying to say that either of us is right or wrong, I'm just basing my opinion off of two things. One, the interview in which the lead designer specifically said that they weren't done with Morrigan's story after a direct question about DA:O characters' appearances.
Two, the fact that David said "any sooner" and "You'll need to wait and see what (if anything) happens with Morrigan."

To me, that screams "I know that this is going to drive you crazy, but I'll just fuel your fire and make you speculate even more wildly." Neither of David's statements are outright denials of Morrigan's presence in DA2, but we will have to just wait and see.

Flemeth is "with the party." (Unsure if that means companion...after all, Bohdan Feddic was "with" the DAO party.)

Feel free to post anything official you see (with a link).

I'd like to point out that the German phrase "mit von der Partie" means "along for the ride" or simply "there".

Please change that, it's misleading (bad translation). All that was confirmed is that she's in the game.

Of course it's not intended to be a challenge between us.. Posted Image
But it's a matter of fact that we are reading and interpreting the same sentence in two different ways..
Becuase I read "any sooner" like "not this time" and that words in brackers "(if anything)" like "and don't assume it will happen 100%".
If he decided to don't get fuel over fire of speculation well, I trust he really used an harsh way...

He only said something about Morrigan not coming back TO YOUR WARDEN sooner. DA2 is not about your Warden, so she might make an appearance in DA2.

"You will need to wait and see what (and if anything) happens with Morrigan in the future" is specifically related to Morrigan, not to your warden
I repeat, maybe I am wrong, but if someone use words like "You have to wait and see" "if" and "in the future" I just read them as "it could happen, but not surely and not so soon"

Or he's just not in a position to confirm or deny it cause doing either would be a huge revelation or spoiler for Dragon Age 2, in other words all he does is give a vague answer that could be either.

Thanks for all the tips about the German translation regarding the Flemeth item. I'll just take it out since it doesn't add anything to what we learned from GameInformer.

As for Morrigan...everything they've said has been way too vague. Taken all together, it does suggest that she may appear...but that's hardly a cold, hard, verifiable fact. It's exactly the sort of thing this list is meant to avoid.

i think that considering the nature of this forum, to provide information, the speculation should be kept low for now and we should just wait for more information

which, in typical bioware style, is going to be drip fed to us so we are all desperate to find out the next thing hahaha

Soo Hawke has a sister now ?

Well it is better to have a family. My guess we gonna protect her from Templers at some point ( or for Evil Characters who care nothing of family , they can give her up to templers for a profit :) )

Well it will add some interesting stories to the game I think and hearing she will be a companion is great news too.

Now I am really excited about the new companions and this ''interest'' of Cassandra. I think she is ''The Seeker'' in the screenshots.

And that Dwarf seems an interesting character. Can't wait for info !

My guess is your sister gets possessed by Flemeth -forcing you in a ten-year spanning battle to get your sister back and at the same time protect her shell (Flemeth) from Cassandra.

"brennendes Interesse" (German Gamestar) could also be interpreted as a play on words -which than would indicate that Cassandra wants to burn Hawke (or his/her sister ?) at the stake.

The Dwarfg is named Varric and is a narrator and was with the warden for a time. Mary Kirby said he was a romance but then said she was joking sooo....

he isn't a romance but I don't know why that would be said when the reaction was well known.

Well, I doubt it. "Brennendes Interesse" is nothing else than the common translation of "strong interest". You must be pretty hairsplitting if you want to make a hint out of that. ;)

By the way: BioWare is making my first character (noble dwarf) ordinary. I called him 'Varick'. In Orzammar I had to find a dwarf with the same name - a friggin' obsessive proving fan. And now it's Varric. Come on, guys... you should've asked me - Thedas people will get confused about the hero *SPOILER* who has given his life to end the Blight.

The only thing I want to know...The ONLY thing...is this: Will there be a New Game Plus mode this time around? If so, then I'll go ahead and pre-order it. If not, then Im probably just going to rent this from gamefly and not bother even buying it. I dont even play DA:O anymore because of the fact that there's no New Game Plus feature :(

They are going to transform DAO into Mass effect in a med_fan setting.

I fail to see how this even works as a concept. Unless you are going to be shooting swords out of your sword. In which case, you may want the Chainsaw Swords thread.

Also I think they misunderstood why DAO wasn't the full success they hoped.

Dragon Age is BioWare most bestest selling game. Ever. Even over Baldur's Gate.

I wonder if or who they will get as far as famous voice actors go. I know DAO had some big names as did ME 2, hopefully Bioware can wrangle some very talented vo names for DA 2.

If they're going to take the time and effort to voice the main character, they may as well do it right.

It is mentioned in the German GameStar.de article, that Hawks adventures starts with the attack of the darkspawn on Ferelden. He fled form Lothering before the assault and headed (directly) to the Free Marches.
Why? He could go the Denerim first. Or Redcliffe? Is he a coward?

While we have the quota from David Gaider:   "No exclusive organization. No saving the world. No ancient evil." I'm a bit confused now. We have clear screenshots where Hawke fights against darkspawn. Why not facing the darkspawn directly in Lothering especially when he got a skilled mage at his side?

Not everyone fights selflessly for the greater good. Hawke might not be a coward -he just might be a little more selfish than the Warden.

Why fight a fight you're sure to lose when your skill might just be enough to save your own hide ?

You didn't try very hard, did you?

Because what you said isn't being realistic at all - the "what do know so far" is all summarized in the thread's first post.

hmmmm....story told through narrative style?

uhh...so if DA2 is a giant flashback...with companions tellingt he story....

o.o something bad happen to Hawke? Why isn't he/she retelling the events?
