I´m not sure if it was mentioned before, but the German gamona side tells, that also gamers on the PC there won´t be able to zoom out to get an tactical overview, because it would make fighting details and animations hard to see and rise hardware requirements. Instead better camera views were promised:
Die taktische Ansicht aus Dragon Age: Origins (war nur auf PC möglich), die mehr Überblick in den Schlachten lieferte, entfällt komplett, auch auf dem PC. So weit herausgezoomt würde man die detaillierteren Kampfeffekte nicht mehr erkennen und auch die Hardware-Anforderungen wären höher. Zum Ausgleich soll es bessere Kameraperspektiven geben.

Oh boy, I sure hope thats not true....the ability to zoom as you pleased was great on the PC. I'm calling rubbish on the whole "hardware requirements" angle. I'll stop talking before I nerd rage on such a little bit of info..<_<
I don't believe that excuse either. Furthermore, if the graphics are going to negatively affect the gameplay then they shouldn't have been upgraded in the first place.
This is the first bit of news that's really disappointed me. I haven't been bothered by any of the announced changes much, since we were told initially that the PC gameplay would remain intact. If this is confirmed, then it's not the case any longer.
I'm just hoping that any of the PC-centric features will make it into DA2, like the quickbar, click-to-move and multi-select.

We know that whoever killed the Archdemon and was made monarch is being kept, and that's it. We don't know how much your choices from the first game will affect the second (they mentioned it being like ME1 -> ME2 in that sense, but ME2 was pretty devoid of big changes--the biggest was probably the changes on the Citadel from playing a Paragon or Renegade when sacrificing the Council).
All-in-all, DA2 doesn't come out until March, so I'd just make a new file, if at all possible.

"Your
reasons for your incessant clicking are not *known* to me."
Beyond that, I'm not sure what to think of this game just yet. I'll need to wait. I absolutely hate the new art direction, though. Also hate the dialogue-wheel, almost tempted to think that this is EA's doing. "Oh, ME2 sold better than DA:O, let's make DA:O more like ME 2 ." Meh...I won't hold my breath.

Does anyone have any proof/links to this information? I have been browsing around and I really don't feel like searching the endless threads for this info.
A great answer would be "yes, *link*" or "we don't know yet". Would like to separate fact from rumor.

I'm not sure where you got the no romance bit--a few people would prefer it to be, but I'd throw all of my money into there being some. We haven't heard any word on who's romancable, or even any other party member besides Bethany, Hawke's sister, but I'm sure they'll be there.
As for the toolset...there's rampant speculation this way and that about it, but none of us know anything, and we're not getting answers. As I recall, we didn't even know we were getting the toolset for DAO until just a few weeks before its release.

It is possible, but I just don't want to go through a whole bunch of darkspawn in the Deep road again

I think most of everyone hates the Deep Roads. And the Fade. If you own the PC version, they have a "Skip the Fade" mod. Not so with the Deep Roads, but then it wouldn't make sense.

I checked the new print article in the German magazine GameStar.de myself. There are only few facts I find important.
The scenes where Hank fights against the darkspawn are only at the beginning of the game. You will face no darkspawn afterwards.
The maximum level you could reach is not clear yet, but they mentioned it could be 20.
A level 20 character in DA:2 will be more powerful compared with a similar character in DA:O
The plot will be epic again
The game itself will be way larger than DA:A and more dense than DA:O
About the zooming abilities, nothing is set in stone yet. There is still a matter of debate. They mention only that they will work on a perfect vantage point, till the final release.
Seems that Hake will set into some ruling position and the game will probably end on the brink of war?

Pretty much. Fine, I understand that it wouldn't have made much sense in DA:A. But in a game that spans an entire decade?
Please, don't pull the same 'Your character has better things to do' thing again BioWare

lol Hawke's definitley gonna have blue balls by the end of the game if he doesn't get any romance options. Since romance has been a Bioware thing for many of their games, I'm sure it will be in DA2 as well. Although, if the conversations will be a mix between Origins and Awakening, I wonder if we'll only be able to use Hawke's suave at camp, rather than on the road. You would only get one line out of your companions on the road in Awakening, you had to be at the Keep to actually carry on a conversation. If this is the case, starting a romance may be similar to Mass Effect, in which you do a task that greatly earns that companion's favor, and then you hit on them until your intentions are clear. I wouldn't mind, Mass Effect 2 romances ran rather smoothly, and the climax cutscenes were far better than DA:O.LovelyLittleLeprechauns wrote...
I don't know why they wouldn't put any romance options in, DA2 is supposed to cover a whole decade. Don't tell me that Hawke is not going to have a relation with someone in the span of 10 whole years! . . . . I always thought that adding romance options made the game more realistic and believable. In life people can fall in love in any circumstance. . . it just would not make any sense to leave that option out of DA2.

Probably that it will be shorter than DA:O but the story will have more depth to it.
Who knows?

Luckily, there's no evidence that there *won't* be romance in the game. They just haven't started talking about romances yet.

I'd stake quite a lot on inventive modders coming up with a way to "fake import" to DA2 if you own the PC version. They've already done that with save editors for ME2. And it saves me the trouble of playing ME1 again, because I'm so spoilt on ME2.

Well, that's only half-true. There were two types of choices in DA:O, Big and Small. The Big ones are thus, and are always in the End Captions:
* Who rules the Dwarves and the changes to Dwarven Society
* Is there talk of a new Exalted March?
* WTF happened to Circle Tower, yo
* Let the Werewolves kill the Elves or free the Werewolves
* Who rules Ferelden
* Who survived the Blight
* What are your companions up to post-Blight
* Is Morrigan knocked up? (semi-confirmed as the only canonical choice)
Examples of the Small ones are thus, and are optional in the End Captions:
* Who did Caitlyn marry?
* The Green Sword
* The Bar
* Redcliffe

Yeah, but I'm not expecting too much. On one hand, I would love it if the game acknowledged what I chose as my boon--to free the Circle from the Chantry's authority. On the other hand...that only applies to the Circle in Ferelden, it wouldn't change anything in Kirkwall.
And not to be the Grammar Hammer, but it is effect.

Which could be indeed an hint to the hidden persons on the DA:2 front art.
The party itself is still limited to 4.
Finally, the composition of your party will affects conversation and interaction. So if you came to bargain with someone it will depend if you got a mixed party or an whole bunch of brutal warriors with you.

They also mention that there will be at least two types of each class (mage, warrior, rogue) in the game, in case you can’t stand any particular companion. So to say, you will have space for replacement.
