But i find the argument that support the "before DAO" quite cubersome.
Why they should set DA2 in the aftermath of a previous blight when it would place the game before the dragon age and when you just finished a game that was set during a blight in the dragon age?

Would be great if you could keep it up to date.
For those asking why no info is released on which DA:O/DA:A characters will be relevant to DA2, it may be because people don't like spoilers. I want to find out about these things when I buy Dragon Age 2, not half a year before its release.

SOme decisions may carry over.
They probably won't. I already showed why on previous posts in this same thread (basically DA:A removes the option to carry over). They might allow us to choose things like "What happened in the ending of the Landsmeet?", but analysing this from the point of view of the game designer, we see that it is very unlikely. It would make the beggining of the game very confusing and that is not what they are aiming for.

Note also that it says Hawke fled the destruction of Lothering. That immeidately ties him into the previous story and world.

Well good, if it's done in a proper way it always a good thing.
I have nothing against voice over, i don't have a preference between Shepard/Geralt of Rivia type of hero and the Grey Warden type.

Plus, that little kid IS the bridge to DA2!!! ZOMG, I'm a genius.
Edit: Genius: maybe. Good at Spelling: no.

It's just an assumption, but it's really starting to sound like the Kirkwall stuff will be part of the game. Depending on how soon it happens after he flees Lothering, there could definitely be overlapping time frames, since Lothering is pretty early in DAO's timeline.
That would be really freaking cool actually. Err, well, it doesn't explain Hawke potentially being a woman though.RinpocheSchnozberry wrote...
Hawke is the kid from the
bridge in Lothering! It works. No family to worry about in DA2 and a
brief brush with the Warden from DAO.

1) Hawke had a high voice and was dirty from running to Lothering. Could have been a girl!
2) Hawke took a mean shot to the dingleberries on the way out of Lothering and has had to make some changes.

We also learned that DA2 basically starts after the Lothering part of DAO. While there's likely other implications that can be drawn from that, one major one is that we can pretty much rule out the Godbaby as a party member. If the Godbaby shows up at all, it will be as a... well, baby, and thus not terribly suited to combat.Master Shiori wrote...
We just learned five facts about Hawke, including that he will be voiced.

That could just be the introduction, and game play could start somewhere else, like Kirkwall, and could start much later.

We don't technically know for sure that the flight to Kirkwall will be in the game, as in something you play. But still, you're right, since the game spans 10 years, that means that even if the GB is encountered later on, after a "years pass" cutscene, the max age he or she could be is like 9 (unless there's some freaky advanced-aging thing going on, which is entirely possible, I suppose...Claudia Black's character in Stargate SG-1 had a child who grew up very quickly indeed.Mirander wrote...

It would be kind of interesting to have a child (or at least a very young) party member.

For the first year of DA2 she would still be with the Warden in Ferelden, fighting the Blight.
Afterwards she'd be travelling with her child to Orlais.
It does mean that the Warden could easily still be alive during DA2, even after that game has ended.

Are we going to get any answes to the questions posed in Origins and Awakening? Is there even villain or a driving force to justify this story? I really hope this continues the story of the Old Gods, Tevinter, and the Black City somehow. At the very least...
