How did we transformed this topic into a fighting ground?
Seriously people we need to stop this fighting, maybe the topic gets unstickied because of our rage in here.
Besides whats the point? Trolls don't listen, they don't care, for them, the only fun is to ****** off other people.
Thats the price we pay for having "freedom of speech", everyone says whatever he/she likes.

PS: Whats a "canon" supposed to mean in here? Like: "So Morrigan's godchild ins't canon?"
And I know this ins't the topic to debate about this, but as far as I belive, she might use that child to do the same as her mother did, "eat" it and gain its powers... If Morrigan did came from Flemmeth, there is a possibility that a part of her might be her own mother.

I would debate this with you but this isn't the topic for it that's for sure.

I just starting to feel sorry for who develop graphics for DA2 actually.

@Datenshi92
I want to believe Morrigan didn't have ill intention.
But when she was asked about to destroy The Anvil of the Void, it was possible to persuade her to agree by saying that if she wants to be a golem herself, even if it means not preserving what she wanted to preserve.
So when she talked about DR, I could not be sure if she really sure about DR.

Very disappointing...

Don't worry, the forumites have been working on loopholes for this. The most recent is "Flemeth can inhabit Bethany's body, and then it really isn't incest".

Some info that I am not sure if they have been posted before, both from the printed edition of the germen Gamestar:

Inspiration for the style of the game are the Kurosawa film classic "Throne of Blood" or Peter Bruegle´s painting "Triumph des Todes"
And DA was once planned to be called DA:Exodus, but Bioware scrapped that name already.

just wanted to post the same.

Also new: the left side of the dialog wheel will sometimes feature your companions.

And clarification on combat really being the way I've taken the dev-descriptions so far:
Basically the same as in Origins, but every talent/spell is executed immediately (warriors leaping towards enemies, no load bars for spells - they say that they'll balance in some undisclosed different way, but I'm very sceptical).
Top-down view may indeed be cut for performance issues (i.e. consolification), but they're working on better camera angles to make up for it (yeah, right).
Less spells, but with upgrades.
Rogues will be less warrior-ish. (No longer share majority of talents, should feel ninja-ish.)

And again lotsa dev-hate on DA:O's graphical style, calling it an ugly hodgepodge of graphical influences.

Where did you hear about the no load bars? I also believe that the warrior rush/leap thingy is a separate talent of its own.

Gamestar 09/2010.
Asked about the balance now that spells are instant: MIke Laidlaw."There are other methods to get balance. You do not need to worry that spells get weaker. We could as example change enemy behavior or adjust other variables to keep everyting balanced."

@Grommash94

like in the post I quoted this is information from the German PC gaming magazine GameStar.

and no, it's not. hate it (like me) or love it, but it's not a separate talent.

edit: just to clarify: I'm speaking of the concentration bars, not spells' cool down phase. (I think someone playing the demo mentioned the latter still being there, but I could be wrong and honestly wouldn't be surprised if that got cut as well.)

Oh. Could've sworn one of the people who went to ComicCon mentioned that the dash thing was just a talent.

The way I see it, there are quite a few ways to balance spells not having concentration bars though, like having a universal cooldown for the more powerful spells, or giving them specific debuffs upon use that prevent you from using similar spells for a certain amount of time. I guess we can only wait until more gameplay videos are released.

What exactly does this mean?  We can ask our companions for input mid-dialog or something?

I believe that we will also be given some opportunity to control the narration. I have NO proof though....

It completely stems from the hearsay that Narration will decide how Combat will play out... So perhaps we will be able to determine the difficulty, the Level of Over-the-topness and in effect rewards culminating out of a Narrative through external control...

If graphics have looked cartoony it maybe because of poor language.

It's really not very impressive when you criticize someone for misspelling when you actually make a mistake in your own sentence.

I haven't been fighting with anyone, I just expressed my opinion and acknowledged that others may not feel the same or that I might change my point of view. Isn't that what forums are for? I don't think I have been complaining, I have little doubt that DAII will be a great game.

I think they were talking about that earlier, with the demo: you could command Bethany to wipe out darkspawn, or you could do it yourself.  Somewhere else they mentioned that you could have a cunning, intimidating, wise or so on character attempt to speak to a person instead of having the attribute or quality yourself.

I wonder what's only achievable/persuadable by you? Or is everything? Can you level their abilities?

That's nice to know.  I've been conditioned to dump epic points into Persuade, Diplomacy, Coercion--whatever the talky skill is so that I could actually talk my way out of things instead of just HERO SMASH in RPGs.  This will hopefully allow Hawke to be more of a specialist.  Kind of like the "Sten, tear his arms off" line to the poor guy outside Orzammar   My mage Hawke wouldn't be physically intimidating, but she could conceivably order party members to do it for her.

I would imagine that very difficult/plot-critical dialogs are only available to Hawke.  Kinda kills it if you have Bethany talking for you during the ZOMG EPIC scenes.

Once I'd played enough BioWare games I realized that Coercion is very, very important, and that I need to dump as many points as I conceivably could to ensure I was always able to manipulate when I wanted to. The first KotOR was painful in the beginning because I had yet to learn this, and there were opportunities left and right I kept missing. And then I played KotOR 2 and it wasn't nearly as important. But I guess that was okay, because the Exile was a Jedi God by the end of that game.

Ok, so basically they got rid of the stamina for warriors and rogues and got rid of mana for mages. Essentially just leaving the cooldown after you use the ability, just like ME2?
