Yes, but all of those were in relation to each other, in a sort of domino affect...of course, I don't know enough about the storyline to surmise how much the Warden's actions and the Blight impant directly (instead of Hawke simply being a refugee) upon Hawke's rise to power. Maybe it all makes sense, I dunno. Besides, both Lafayette and Talleyrand are in relation to other leaders, rather than be individual leaders themselves.

See, I think it might just be that.  A domino effect.  Especially considering we're importing our own version of Thedas from DA:O to DA2.  The Warden's choices in DA:O might have a potent, if subtle, political impact on what's going on in the Free Marches.  Regardless of the Warden's choices in DA:O, Ferelden has been utterly crippled by the Blight.  That can cause a political power vacuum, which can lead to X, and then to Y--see where I'm going with this?

Of course, of course. ^_^ It just might..and if it's not. Well. I guess I just feel bad for the people of Thedas.

I feel bad for the people of Thedas, the post-Episode VI Star Wars EU, Faerun, Eberron--their lives suck just so we can have MOAR EPIC HEROES.  They must hate adventurers.

Oh, Maker, what is Maric?  The All-Father or something?  Fathered Cailan, Alistair, people were speculating about Anders, and now Hawke.  We'll find out that half of Thedas is descended from him or something

If Hawke was sired by Maric and Flemeth, would that make Bethany Maric's or Flemeth's? Not that I really think this is the case, but...well...speculation is fun!

Wynne did have a son. That's not really relevant to Hawke though, as Hawke could be of either gender. Same goes for Fiona's child, who was said to be a son.

i think your prolly bump into Flemeth and morrigan in the first stages of DA:2 basically to help become "familiarised" you know seeing something recognisable, although you certainly will not be able to kill or romance either of them.Any other encounters with DA:O chars will be purely cosmetic and I am guessing the first mission/maps will be exactly this as a tutorial

You're right. Flemeth has been confirmed; Morrigan has not.

I think Morrigan always heads west into Orlais at the end of Origins, regardless of pregnancy status. This makes me think she won't be in DA2, aside from a possible cameo (like Hawke sees the Warden + Dog + Alistair + Morrigan walk by in Lothering) or some throwaway lines from Flemeth.

I don't think they'd give her such a specific destination only to have her turn up in a completely different place. They probably sent her to Orlais for a reason.

You just made me so happy! That would be a great idea for a cameo! Devs should see this.

Thats true, but again, the game takes place over 10 years. Unless it takes 10 years to go from Orlais to the Free Marches, I wouldn't rule out Morrigan appearing just because of geographic location....

Remember that Maric was only 18 at the time he met Flemeth in the wilds. If Hawke was conceived then, he would be around 10 years older than Cailan... Making him about 40 during the battle of Ostagar.

@SirOccam -- I like the new organization by category. Thanks for maintaining this list, I appreciate it. I don't have enough time to stay on top of everything so I swing by this thread specifically to see what I've missed. Easier to stay in the loop!

The Orlais capital is clickable on the interactive map, so it's a good possibility that we will.

Yeah, but lots of stuff is clickable on that map...the only locations that have been confirmed are all within the Free Marches as far as I know (aside from Lothering of course). I don't think being clickable necessarily means we will go there in DA2. Otherwise we'd be all over the continent, and I just can't see them doing that.

Of course it's possible, but I just think it's highly unlikely.

In their Five Facts article, GameInformer tells us Hawke will visit other areas of the Free Marches.

"This means that at least some of the action in Dragon Age II will be set
in Kirkwall itself, though Hawke will also spend time in other areas of
the Free Marches
."

I don't know, I just think this game is going to be set almost entirely in the Free Marches. If we did go to Orlais or Llomeryn, or Par Vollen, or Minrathous, or wherever, they'd have to visualize those countries/cities now for what would probably be a short scene, locking them into one interpretation.

Wait.. so the game takes place during DAO when Lothering is destroyed? Seeing as Hawke comes from there, its basically a replay of DAO and DAA from a different point of view. Interesting...
