It does mean that the Warden could easily still be alive during DA2, even after that game has ended.
I'm curious to see how DA2 will handle that, since many different endings are possible for the Warden in DA:O. It would be a bit of a slap in the face to anyone who played DA:O to have a "canon Warden" appear, so it seems most likely that DA2 will not mention the Warden much at all, just referring to him/her as the hero who ended the Blight. Hopefully you'll be able to import a saved game as happened in ME2, which will at least make it possible for the game to mention the choices you made in DA:O (e.g. whether the Warden ended up alive or dead). Even if that happens, though, I doubt we'll hear much about Ferelden or the Warden.

Is there any word on how long this takes place after DA1? And will it relate at all to the events of the first one and things you did?

Hawke is a bad character name...I hope there is a reason behind it other than they think it sounds cool cause it dont.
Other than that, I'm looking forward to this game...the single origin option and choice they made to focus solely on one character should allow for greater depth to the story. So the story should be pretty good and thats all I care about.

What do you think they should've used? I mean I don't like that name at all, but its way better than Shepard...
Personally, I loved the last name Aeducan...

Okay so what I am getting from this is that DA2 is kinda going the path of Mass Effect. There is a preset main character that is voiced, but you might have the option to change his name and appearance.
Also the path of Jade Empire, Baldur's Gate, Mass Effect 1, KotOR 1 and 2, Planescape Torment and Dragon Age; Origins (minus the voice-acting).
You are always playing the same character in a pre-defined story, the only changes you make are being nasty sometimes, having weird ears and one choice at the end to change your ending.
Anyone who thought the massive extra dev work needed to make 6 different origins was worth it to make material 9/10 players won't fully see needs their head examined.

I don't think they'll confirm it so far, but good guess. Priestly said we'd be SHOCKED when we find out their identity. I can't wait to see who it is. Could be Flemmeth though.

Thank you

Oh ok. Thanks. Well one thing I have loved about BG was how totally compact (and fascinating and unique at the same time) the story line was up to the very ending of Throne of Bhaal. Totally no loose ends.
What has been done with Morrigan opens so much space for deliberation, speculation, it's like they created a great build up... that I hope they will use
BTW this topic got me back when BGII was being made and all the chatting and proposals about that one (pause or no pause of inventory screen during combat?! Level limitations on non humans or not?) Ah good times
