Oh. No. No no no no NO.

BioWare you are stupid and I haaaaate you.

So... we'll never find out what becomes of the god baby??

Its not really that bad, I belive that for our sakes, and others, it will be better than way, unless Bioware comes up with something really good.
As for what Morrigan said, we will never see that child again, and it would be smart of her, if she plans to do something with kid, like absorving its powers like Flemmeth would(this is just speculation of mine though).

There are things that we have to learn to let go, this might be one of those, it ain't because of having an old god's soul that it will be like a super villain or something, it would be predictable...

(Bit of spoilers)This game will focus on how you deal with people, infiltrate in politics, change the world based on your choices and gain influence/power.

Morrigan might be pulling a Flemeth, but I say stay tuned for DA3!! Or, DLC. The carrot is already dangling in front of us, it would be bad business not to get us gamer donkeys to pull the cart.

Maybe yes, maybe no. Look at Avernus. Did you drink from the bottle or smash it?

I don't get it. Hawke is from Ferelden, the Aeducans held the dwarven throne pre-DA:O and during the fifth blight. Unless of course if Varic is from Kal Sharok but that's way to the northwest between Anderfel and Orlais. How did he meet him?

At the rate they are going, probably bumped into him on the subway.

And, has anyone heard who will be voicing Hawke? I am almost certain they said he would be voiced.

A few people who saw the demo have given their impressions of the voice, but I haven't heard any names yet.

Where's all this about Varric being a king coming from?

Also: "Unlike Origins, where unused party members presumably sat around the campfire, twiddling their thumbs until you returned with tales of adventure, Dragon Age 2's brood of followers will get on with their own lives. They have jobs beyond adventurer - which doesn't pay very well obviously. You'll meet them in their day to day lives." - UK PC Gamer magazine.

I don't know whether or not this is common knowledge but I thought I'd post it here anyway.

I really, really like this idea. It always seemed slightly unnatural in Origins that independent people like Wynne or Morrigan would just stand around waiting for the Warden. This sounds so much better (as long as we know where they can be found if we need them, obviously). Thanks for posting that bit of info! x

So it seems a title of the Champion of Kirkwall is also a title for the ruler. Ruler of only Kirkwall or something bigger? I like that the game finally takes steps in the direction of KotOR.

Human only? Darn it, this is a huge loss for me.

My interest in this game just got a hole blown though it. Hopefully the third game gives you a choice.

The DA2 style of story-telling reminds me of Bernard Cornwell's "The Warlord Trilogy" where Arthur's life is told through is friend and champion Derfel to his current queen years after Arthur "disappeared". These books are amazing, so I think the DA2 has the potential to be as well.

I hope to see Nathaniel make at least a cameo since he would have been in the Free Marches, if not Kirkwall, at some point during Hawke's story.

How about player choice? The dark ritual has probably been a popular first choice, if not a preferred one. However, if BW has no plans to further explore the original storyline, this is a rather inconvinient cliffhanger. Overall, it's like a TV producer cancelling a cherrished TV series in exhange of a more affordable spinoff.

Funny, everyone I know in RL who played it picked the Ultimate Sacrifice as their ending, including myself.

I'm not saying US was the most popular ending (it was the most Heroic, however *grin*), what I am saying it is not so simple as picking the most popular choice. At the least, there is strong division between the player base.

As was said, if you have a save game, the canon is whatever you did in DAO. The question is what the canon would be without a character import.

Personally, I still think the Ultimate Sacrifice will be the default canon, because it is the one with the least loose ends.

Still, whatever they come up with for Morrigan, it will likely NOT figure the God-child primarily, because otherwise they'd have to devise something else for those who did not do the dark ritual. Whatever role her child plays (for those who did the DR), it will be something that can easily replaced with something else without changing her involvement in the game completely.

For example, it might be that she has gained Unlimited Power by the time we see her again. Those of us who did the DR will find out she gained this power by eating a steady diet of God-Child, whereas those who chose US learn that she gained her power through some other (no doubt nefarious) mean (such as eating a steady diet of Mabari hounds).

Just my two cents, of course.

Yeah, I always had immersion-breaking moments when badass Mandalorian mercenaries, paladins of Torm, Witches of the Wild, sexy evil rangers, and other people who were awesome in their own rights would follow me around incessantly like lost puppies.  It's good to see the NPCs getting on with their own business--shows a whole new facet to their personalities other than "meat shield for protagonist."

if the save game from origins and awakening can be imported into DA2, where does that leave the Warden created character? Will he fight along Hawke then be killed off? Or... by importing the save file, does that mean your decisiion and outcome regarding sleeping with Morrigan or not (in Origins), or siding with the Architect or not (in Awakening) will be transferred over? In other words, the story its decisions and not the character will be whats imported.

I think you have it right. They'll just transfer the decisions and ignore the Warden's physical attributes, most likely. Some of us are still hoping you might be able to catch a glimpse of the Warden, Morrigan, Alistair, and Dog walking by in Lothering, but I don't think that's particularly likely, in all honesty.

Oh, thank you!

What, is that EEEEVIL Hawke?

I gotta say, what is up with that strip of blood over his nose everywhere? It's like he intentionally kills people just so he can have that mark.

I think they may have new figure models and rigs which would make it hard unless they make new morphs of them? That is my understanding why you might not see the original party members about. But then again they have brought Flemeth back for an appearance (under a new polished *ahem* look) :)
and I am only basing that thought on the new models for the women.

My guess would be that that art was based on the Hawke from the playable demo, in which he had that particular smear.

There is a surprising amount of FemShep/MShep out there.  So in fanfiction, you can.  But in fanfiction, you can do anything.  And anyone :o
