That doesn't even make sense.  And, the developers appear to disagree with you that they are disregarding what makes the Dragon Age setting important.  I'm taking their word over yours.

Your problem is that you don't seem to realize that 80% of sequels have a different protagonist and different characters:
SW: KOTOR2, NwN2, The Elder Scroll series, Fable series, Vampire: The Masquerade series, Final Fantasy series, Fallout series, Metal Gear Solid series, Devil May Cry 4, Manhunt 2, GTA series, Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy,  True Crime series, Call of Duty series, Resident Evil series, Mafia 2, Godfather 2, BioShock 2, Medal of Honor series, Brothers in Arms series, Soul Reaver etc etc...

Your post is full of contradiction.  If the game was to follow in the footsteps of Mass Effect would we not in fact see a return of the main character from DA:O?  Mass Effect is the story of one person, Dragon Age is the story of one Age.  Besides how is the focal character of DA2 being different from Origins "throwing the game out the window"?  The events of DA:O still happened in context of the game.

Seriously...enough. The subject, as far as DA2 is concerned, is fully resolved. It was stated more straightforwardly than pretty much anything else. No romancing Bethany. If you want to expound on your feelings about rectums and incest and such...make your own thread. Don't get this one locked.
