Well, we already know one party member. I think some party members will be revealed in the future, and for the others, probably when we play the game.ladyofpayne wrote...

I'm pretty sure Starkhaven is the capital of the Free Marches, so I'm expecting we'll get to visit that at some point, and hopefully Cumberland too (particularly the College of Magi or whatever it's called).

I've just played DA 2 at the gamescom (PC Version) and I wasn't able to scroll out with the mouse wheel. I thought in the PC Version this was possible, maybe someone of the developers can say something if this feature isn't included yet or is removed completly.
You couldn't move the camera up and down at all or just scroll it all the way up the way it used to be in Origins? If the latter, Mike Laidlaw already said there won't be a top down view in the game.

Hawke him/herself, Bethany, Brother Carver, Momma Hawke and later, Aveline and her Templar husband. There can only be four fighters on the field at one time, we already know Hawke and Bethany will be two of them, and we've also seen a picture of Aveline fighting Darkspawn, so I think we can count her in as well, I'd guess Carver would be the fourth as he was described as being a warrior. I can't imagine Momma Hawke being much of a fighter (but who knows, like Eleanor Cousland, she may surprise us) and I'm not sure about the Templar... perhaps we will get the choice of picking our team via a party selection screen?

Also, I'm wondering about who the companions are going to be at the start of the game... there are six people we know of so far... *spoilers ahead*

Most probably.
But when we aren't using one, he/she will be minding his own business, after all, they won't stand still there, like in DAO at the camp.

Umm, what was the problem with the original healthbar? I mean, the length of the bar shows how much HP do you have left. I wonder how can that be more informative?Dynamomark wrote...
Some interesting points I noticed in http://pc.rpgsite.ne...ii-preview.html

Gone are the difficult-to-see circular portraits that vaguely displayed health information.

Allies aren’t the only one to receive such changes – enemies now sport a health bar that allows you to visually see what happens to their health with each attack you inflict on them. When you swing a sword, you’ll immediately see the effects of that attack reflected on the meter in white, and that’ll then deplete down to a red nub.
I'd have to agree, it's not very clear how exactly the displayed health information will be less vague in DA2. Also, it's not all that clear what the "meter in white" and "a red nub" are supposed to achieve. I guess we'll have to wait for some gameplay footage or screenshots to find out.
From what i understand it seems like they've gone the traditional left to right bar look for easier to read look rather than semi-circle up/down look which IS harder to read at a quick glance as it is now.

This date that came in the box of Awakening...what is it then?
An early date for DA2 that eventually got pushed until March? Another expansion pack? DLC? What?

We don't know. Chris Priestly said in another thread titled 2.01.2011 that we would have to wait and find out.
"Tune in on that date and see what happens."

I read somewhere that the game had some pushes and had to change its date...
But its a long time till then, I hope they keep revealing more bits of info till then.
Do all their other games get this treatment? They sound really enthusiastic about DA2.
Even more, does anyone know how long will this game be? The date is a bit rushed, but I have hope it will be about the same size or even bigger than DA:O.

Varric ain't hot stuff anymore, LOL.
To be fair, the model looked even less appealing at SDCC, and that was only a month past.
He ain't so bad, I'm just not sure if his appeal as a romance option is still there.

It's pretty clear what's going on with this game, they are just tuning this game for mainstream release.
Because DA:O was totally a niche game.

From the 1-Up thread:
David Gaider
"The first time you pick a personality option, that's your dominant personality. That personality can "switch" the first time you total of any other personality exceeds that one by 1 (so if you then picked two different personality options after the first, it would switch). Each time it switches, the threshold you need to exceed the total by increases by 1... to avoid a feeling of schizophrenia (though the personalities aren't so divergent they feel like different people). So it's not quite as simple as just tracking the highest total."
I think this needs to be logged NOW.
I have to admit I'm a little wary of this. I am resistant to the idea of the game giving me a "dominant personality," because I don't intend to act the same way with everyone.
