Yeah I was pissed when they left behind all my favorite characters, and brought this Commander Hawke clown in.

They switched my char with some Hawke?

No old companions -Alistair, Oghren, Wynn, Leliana,Shale, Zevran, Sten, Dog meeting again in the legendary group???

Thats is very disappointing. Feels like I don't need to keep my save game anymore, was hoping it would be more than ME series continuation, yet I was wrong...

You are my hero, lol.

Why can't people just accept that their companions are gone? Why do they keep stepping on it over and over?
I think we should be gratefull to have another point of view of the story... Plus the Warden won't last more than 30 years. If you payed attention to your dialogues with Alistair, you'll know that the warden's life expenctancy is short thanks to the taint in their blood.
By the time we play Awakening I got a feeling that a good time passed by, wich shortens it even more.
Why would we want to play an dying hero? What for? We beaten the whole army, we meddle in politics, we survived hordes of darkspawn, we made good friends with our companions, helped who we could, protected an keep and then we get to see the dramatic ending of our warden dying right in front of us?
What would that accomplish? Besides the drama and the idea of "how a true hero dies", nothing.

Because of time passing by and people dying, that BW did good to move on, else when the Warden died, DA would die too just because we are to stubburn to move on...

I can understand how people feel about moving to a new main character and losing the companions. Kind of disheartens me too. But I just look at Hawke as a new canvas to fill with new people to meet and shape and mold with some speechcraft. The Grey Warden served his/her purpose now it is time to move on. Plus from a creative point of view I would want to work on more new characters than old.

With that said, I am just hoping that somehow our Wardens' will show up in the game at some point. I know the new art style may render that impossible. But it would be cool to maybe see them at a glance right before Lothering is destroyed or just some type of cameo appearance besides references through spoken word and/or codex.

Oh and I hope if the romance characters make an appearance they acknowledge if they have a relationship with our Warden. Maybe turn us down if we make advances and things like that. Last thing I need is a love triangle going including 2 characters I control, lol.

In other words I just hope they have more nods to our personal story from origins along with the overall world story.

Well, our character(s) are still in the world, it's not like it's a new world. So I can see it.

I'm not sure how likely a Warden cameo is...the "walking by in Lothering" idea seems to be the most feasible, but I could easily see them not doing it.

What I really, really hope is that they aren't as stingy with the references as they were in Awakening. I mean it really doesn't cost anything to put in a little nod here and there, but the payoff, especially for the more hardcore fans, is huge.

I mean, Awakening had, what? A reference to the king of Orzammar and a couple cameos? Oh, and the letters from Zev/Leliana. I would have liked to have someone ask my Warden what he's been up to since the Archdemon was killed, or have a chance to mention Morrigan when Anders asks you your opinion on apostates. Things like that.

Obviously that will be a little trickier with DA2, since we have no returning companions like Oghren (that we know of), who could theoretically bring these things up, and we aren't playing our Warden so we wouldn't be able to answer anyway. I'm just hoping it's not just going to be a throwaway line about who's king/queen of Ferelden and that's it.

The scene works. It would have worked if she was fully naked. It would have worked if she was fulyl clothed and tied to the table.
It all depends on waht those torutures were doing and for how long.

I think that's the point. The scene works in any of these situations, but they chose to go with the one with the visible breasts. Why? So they could include gratuitous nudity for fanservice. Of course, given the first Witcher, I wouldn't expect anything else from TW2, but let's not pretend they're doing it for artistic reasons.

Now you are jumping to conclusions. Maybe they made it that way specificly to show that torture doesn't perserve your modesty. Your logic is boobs = fanservice.
Note that I wasn't tintialted even a little bit by that scene, but I do do find this scene more disturbing like this, then I probably would if she was fully clothed. Tortures kinda like to work on bare skin.

I really don't get all that schtick abotu full frontal. Hek, most people would probably describe me as conservative and I don't have a problem with that.
Every time I go to the beach I can see a LOTmore boobs and skin than that scene.

Warden camoe? Easy.

Have the player mention the warden (by choosing his gender and profession) and then in Loithering, you can have a cutscene where you can see the warden (who's gender, race and class will depend on what you said earlier..or your save) from the back, talking with Alistair and Morrigan, with Dog in tow.

Easy and simple..you never see the wardens face and you know it's the warden.

Ok, from what I seen in some interviews they said if you liked Mass Effect 2 you will like this. Guess what Mass Effect 2 had? Shepard. That makes it a sequel. I'm looking at DA2 as just a new game based on the history and folklore of DAO. I really don't consider it a true sequel. True sequels bring back the main character. Now I'm not saying DA2 will be a bad game, though I still think it's kinda bogus putting horns on some Qunari.

They flat out have said several times in several interviews that a lot of people who played DAO will not like the changes in DA2. Again I ask why mess with a good thing considering it was RPG of the year, sold millions of copies, etc, etc. Fine. Don't spit in my face and tell me it's raining. They got a lot of ideas for DA2 from these very boards. They are giving us a lot of what they asked for, except continuity with the storyline going into the sequel.

This is how you will enjoy DA2: Do not go into it looking for it to be a sequel. The world is basically the same, but don't think you will be seeing everyone that was in DAO, DA2 has its own story period and is about one central character named Hawke. His story is what will be driving this game. Play the game like that and then maybe they will surprise us with someone from the past, and when it happens we will all giggle like little school girls.

The game is gonna be good, don't doubt that. Will it have the story and the characters we are all looking for? No, Can't please everyone. But Bioware has a way of surprising us. Look at the upcoming DLC's. Would you have even thought you would be going on a mission in Mass Effect 2 with Liara? And they are offering closure with Morrigan, or at least that is what it appears for the time being. Sit back and see what happens. The folks at Bioware seem to try to please us based on feed back they get from these threads so keep hope alive brothers and sisters.

You know what would be cool? If they did a flashback to Lothering and they showed the warden of your choosing interacting with Hawke. They did say decisions in DAO would carry over to DA2, so if that is the case then I could see some flashbacks containing our wardens. You would have to import the results from DAO in order for the decisions to carry over right?  I know that would be hoping too much, but it could be done. Lie I said before, these guys tend to pull out surprises from nowhere.

Why I can kind off understand why some people complains about DA2 not being a sequel, it still irkes me some.
Does playing the same character make the game a sequel? What about games like Fallout, Final Fantasy, Assassins Creed and Neverwinter nights?

Have you bothered to do any research on Dragon Age 2? That would seriously clear a lot of things up for you.

1) There are so many reasons why taking ideas from your fanbase is a terrible idea.
2) You can import your decisions. That is continuity.

Exactly my sentiments Yellow Words. I think people are spoiled by ME2 but I'm a bit ignorant on this. Are there other game sequels that allow you to import characters?

I can understand why people would be pissed they can't continue using their character. We've all invested a lot of time into their actions and now, relationships. Our Wardens are our babies. :P

I forsee people going "Wtf?!? How is this DA3 and I can't play Hawke anymore!!! What about Jane and Bob??? They were my favourite characters and now we're FORCED to play some no-name in Tevinter" when DA3 is announced :P

ME was announced as a trilogy from the start and it was never said that DA would continue the same character. In fact it was said several times they have many different stories to tell. People don't expect to play the same character in Elder scrolls or fallout games and they're called Elder scrolls I, II, III... and Fallout 1, 2, 3 but all of the sudden they're surprised that DA2 isn't about the warden again.
