I hear Ebon Hawke is one that quite a few people will use.
I do not know what ebon refferences to.
Ebon Hawke was the starship you had in KOTOR 1.

In our immaginations words can mean anything if we ignore their meaning and context for the purpose of playing some silly game.......like "From now on I'll use the term cheese to refer to a helicopter".......see how that works. I somehow doubt that this is the kind of immaginative game that the devs are playing.
1) Need allies to rise to power.....that would be political
2) Need money to rise to power.....money can only gain political power
3) Think like a general......yeah that would be yet again political power
I somehow doubt that BioWare means "rise to power" in the terms of "whatever.....look there's a duck over there".
What you talk about regarding "song and script" is FAME......NOT POWER......there is such a thing that is called a dictionary.....look it up......for real it's not a rabbit.
They told us it was a new "single player RPG" not a new "strategic RPG"
I don't think they suddenly turned Dragon Age in Age of Empires..

You're completely mising the point just like all the others......the point isn't that it's a stategy game but that the ultimate goal of the game is for Hawke to get himself in a position of political power....ie.....king/emperor/president(lol) or something along those lines.
Oh yahz, I remember when they took out half the content to sell as dlc, and then gave my character a beard so it felt like some time had passed... I really hope that Bioware doesn't do something like that.SnakeHelah wrote...
Uh, like Chris said it covers 10 years so that might be during the blight, before our PC got even recruited to the Wardens and then after even.
Personally I'm interested in the whole 10 years thing since remember how in AC you would go through a range of events and then end up with a beard?

Ahh.. ok.. now I see.. sorry for that
Anyway.. Even in DAO you could become king/queen of Ferelden
And in Awakening as the Warden Commander you were the ruler of the Land..
Therefore maybe in DA2 we'll just see something like that !

Isn't that the storyline of fable 3? Someone coming from nothing and fighting to become king. I wonder exactly we'll be fighting and what our goal exactly is. Is it just for power? I would think there would be a reason behind it. Usually something to do with the villain or whatever we're fighting against.
interesting......i was thinking that surviving the blight was hawke's backstory. seems to me like the blight has taken everything away from him and now he stands alone and penniless to fight whatever the new disaster is. maybe he's from ferelden and fled during the blight? now he finds himself in a new country trying to make a life and a name for himself? seems we're pretty close in what we're thinking. passage of time may be weird. we'll see our friends come and go. kinda sad.SirOccam wrote...
One confusing thing is that although it's true they haven't given any good hints that there will be overlap, they do describe him both as a "penniless refugee" and as "Champion of Kirkwall." Now it's not outside the realm of possibility for someone with a title like that to BECOME a penniless refugee, but there is a chance that this whole Kirkwall business is part of the game.
If it's supposed to be a rags-to-riches story, then it's a little odd if he had that title already (but again, there's nothing saying he can't be a penniless Champion).
So...IF the Kirkwall thing is part of the game, then theoretically "surviving the Blight" could be part of the game too. Eh, it's kind of a long shot, I know.
But then there's the matter of this decade-long span. If it's going to be like Fable, where stuff happens then a bunch of time passes, then more stuff happens, it seems pretty feasible that the beginning of the game could be Hawke's flight from Ferelden and arrival in Kirkwall, then his/her subsequent earning of the title of Champion of Kirkwall. Then x years pass, then the game resumes.

Yes but more than that. In DAO only the human noble could become a Prince(ess) Consort which basically meant that you were the husband/wife of the regent but without the actual power of a queen/king and in awakening you were more like a regional lord.
