Hello, I was a doofus and I accepted a bugged group invite.  For the last week I've had the group invite alert appearing whenever I go to a page I've not visited before, and I can't delete either of the two invites.

How do I go about getting rid of them and the alert.

*blushes

i have the same problem... :/

Clicking on the red X doesn't work. Nor clicking on the little x, after opening the "bubble"

Each item in the pop-up is supposed to have an X for deleting that item. Have you both tried clicking this?

Yep. In both instances. Red x on orange box and later, the little grey x next to the updates ;)

They always come back. I've done this before and the updates stopped. This time they got stuck :pinched:

Try this:
  • Clear cache (Ctrl+F5).
  • Restart browser.
  • Attempt to remove individual notice items.
  • Clear Cache.
If that doesn't work, add cookie cleanup to step 1. If that doesn't work either I can't help.

Thanks for the Help Snoteye, unfortunately it didn't work :(

Seems to be a glitch with a few groups. Whenever i refresh a page i get the "you have 1 new update" bubble pop up. Pretty normal. The problem is that when i click on it, it opens like it should, then i am taken to a double request from a group made by one of my friends. (2 invites from the same group)

The strange thing is that when i click on the accept/reject button, i get only an option to join the group (and none to reject). And even after accepting the request, i still receive the invite notifications, and always doubled.

Another strange fact is that when i go to the group, it's like i'm not a member, the menu on the right still shows the "Join this group" button, and i am already a member of the group (twice) since i cannot join the group (so i can leave and join again properly), i keep always getting the 2 new invites notification

I have exactly the same problem as Mr HimuraChan. Same group I expect. :)

Can you leave the group from the My Groups list?

no, because the site won't register the membership. Even if we are members of the group, it still shows the accept/reject button, which when clicked opens the window with 2 options: join, or cancel. (no option to leave group).

And yes, both me and Tara are on the group members list :P

What group is it?
What happens if you click here?

it's this: http://social.bioware.com/group/2297/  (i obviously know this is not the leader's fault, it's just a site glitch)

i'll attach 2 screencaps here:

This is the "my groups" section:

Image IPB

And this is what appears when i click any of the buttons for this group:

Image IPB

And like i mentioned before, if i go to the group, i still see only 2 options: join and report (the options that appear when you're not a member). But even with that, i can still post on the group and i appear listed twice as a member :?

Oh, and if i scroll down on the "my groups" section and click on "leave group", it again only gives me the option to join, or cancel (no option to leave)

Edit: @SnotEye: When i click on your link, i'm taken to a screen with the buttons "Join this group" and "Cancel". The adress shown on the address bar is the same as the group's

I've sent you a PM. Just in case you don't notice and don't have e-mail notification turned on.

That didn't work.

Have either of you asked the leader to attempt to forcefully remove you from the group?

Incidentally, is he not able to remove you (not presented with the option) or do attempts just not register?

Well, he never tried removing me completely, only the repeated memberships. I sent him a PM now requesting to be completely excluded from the group. After that i'll try to join without being invited. Let's see if this works  :)

I have four. They have been there for a looooong time. It's really annoying.
