I feel like everyone does not know how to ignore.

I am not saying force you to use it.But say the game asks at the start of a new game if you want to change it.*maybe after you beat the game once*

If you do not want it you can say No when they ask.

Saying you mind and discourage it because the option is there boggles me.

Let me guess if the option was there you could not trust yourself to try it out.And you feel like that would ruin the game a little? You can always not play that new game and start another one with the default.

Because it gives the choice to people who do not like what they look like.Rarely in games do they comment much on looks.*its not a book where they go all out on a description*
Yes well you would only get the choice at the start. Its not like mid game you would be able to change them.*that would break immersion*

So they should offer up spoilers at the very start of the game? What if theres secret companions? Why stop at changing their looks? If you an do that you may aswell be allowed to just create your own characters and not bother with pre-made companions at all.

So you want to make everyone in the game be gorgeous and to your tastes? Films, books and real life dont work like that, why should a game? They are characters which includes their specific looks.

As I said in the other post above yours it Could be sort of like an unlocked thing after beating the game.

Also defualt apperances would be in any book that refers to them as.

Little treat for gamers who beat the game is what i am thinking of now.

If it bothers you do not use it.

No its more that the option shouldnt be there. Why would they go to the bother of creating characters when they can just say "here design one you like"? I actually prefer the ME2 system of you just arm them and leave the rest up to them. These characters are integral to the story everything about them has been carefully designed, why give people the power to mess that up when it serves no purpose other than eye candy? If you dont like what they look like then thats life, its all part of the character and thats part of the design.

Sorry just saw your other post. Its not really much of a bonus "you beat the game now you can give Morrigan bigger bewbs and a sombrero". Honestly I dont see why you would want it. The predesigned characters will always look 10x better than anything you can make yourself.

Because they know you like their characters is why they would design and make them.Only talking skin and face not personality and back story.

They rarely have looks become integral to the story.

Yes eye candy and choice.....people on these forums love to say omg everything has gone to hell when it comes to changes that are coming with DA2 than saying oh well thats life.

Lets not get into the issue of people on these forums saying things have gone to hell lol.

I dont think you will get that option especially on the 360, its such a shallow thing to put in a game, its like a waste of disc space just so people can ogle eye candy. Its really not what the game is about if I designed and wrote a character I wouldnt want someone changing that to fit their whims and fancies. I would want people dealing with the character warts and all. I can see you want that choice but its not a choice I think we should have.

I wouldn't mind it, but I don't think I would use the option much if it was there. The only NPC face I really didn't care for in DAO was Zevran. I just downloaded a modded head for him. I think just about every other design was well thought out and suited the character. From the screen shots I've seen so far I expect the same will be true of DA2.

The only thing I would really love the power to customize is the color and texture of clothing and armor. That would be a fun addition.

It's starting to sound like a lot of work for a useless feature.

Get a PC, dude.

Eye candy has sold many games. It would not take much diskspace.

*sigh*

So you people are so in love with these fictional characters that you do not want others to change it their tastes....Sounds like you believe it will cheapen the characters if the choice is there.*which in the toolset it is* Yet no one has a problem with that.

I do not understand it other than letting others change it screws with the ideas and attachment you have.

Do not understand that either.

I'm just saying I don't think it's worth it for Bio to waste time implementing the feature.

I don't care how you play. That's why I'm telling you to get DA2 for PC. It's going to be better anyway.

Except thats advertised eye candy thats already there, big difference. You aint gonna be able to make Lara Croft on an editor without alot of hassle, its easier just to buy Tomb Raider. What are they going to do? Advertise it as "DA2 check out our babes!! If you dont like them.......BUILD YOUR OWN!!!"? Its not a game selling feature is it?

Its got nothing to do with being inlove with or attached to characters, so much as the fact that they ARE characters designed a certain way for a reason. Having it in the toolset is also different from having it as an option in the game. Having it as an option is almost like saying "its ok we know your only here for titilation, help yourself."

Im not saying I dont want others having the option, I'm saying its an option I have absolutely no desire to see and I dont think the devs would ever bother putting it in.

Yeah more or less, but I would have to seriously question the dev's decision to put it in and what direction the game is going in if its there. Be interesting to see what someone like David Gaider thinks of it.

Yes i wonder if Gaider would have any problem with the player changing the *looks* of the characters.

Looks are part of the design. Morrigan and Flemeth when she shape shifted used their looks for their own good. Knowing a character looks a certain way can have an influence on writing that character I believe.

Thats why default is in place...I would suggest making it an extra thing after you beat the game or unlock the character that in the enxt playthrough you get to choose how they look to spice things up.

How much work do you want someone at Bio to put into this? If it only takes an hour or so, I wouldn't mind this being in.

I assume it would only take their experts to maybe take an hour. After all the character generation is already there for the main character you would just be extending it to the other characters.I imagine testing it should be quite easy.

Any dev is free to comment if I am wrong. In fact I challenge you.Yes I just issued a Challenge.

I think you're very wrong about that. You'd need to handle the resource for a companion in a somewhat different way from how they're handled now, as well as fool around with the interface and call a program module that isn't currently supposed to be used while the game is running.

But yeah, I wish a dev would answer this. Or lock the thread. Whatever.

I would mind. I prefer such things to remain in the realm of modding.

There is a chance that you may not get DA2 resources for the toolset.
Supposedly they did not do it for Awakening.
If they do not let you mod...would you still mind?

They would simply not get my money.

I guess I wouldn't mind it but I don't think I'd use it. I can already do that to my character, but my companions are separate individuals. I want to interact with them, not do their hair.

For just missing the toolset?
