I would mind. I prefer such things to remain in the realm of modding.

There is a chance that you may not get DA2 resources for the toolset.
Supposedly they did not do it for Awakening.
If they do not let you mod...would you still mind?

They would simply not get my money.

For just missing the toolset?

Toolsets can be a dealbreaker for PC gamers.

hmmm....Has this been proven in some way?
If you have the toolset the console guys will not...So they should get some freedom of choice I think.Let console users at least customize the faces if they give the toolset to PC.

Eh...I don't like this.  Imposing my view on some one else's character, making a character look like another race or something.  It's kinda...well insensitive.  It reminds me of somebody talking about having an option of "turning off" the romances for certain characters, like you could magically make Zevran not be bisexual by flipping a switch.

I get that this is mostly because some people think a particular model is ugly (bad hair, pasty skin) or the like, but that's what modding is for, no?  I think the writers and designers have a set vision for the characters.  I think having this option in-game could lead to some kinda scary places.

I was kind of wondering if Bethany's appearance would change depending on what your character looked like. Since she is your sister, it wouldn't make much sense if you gave your Hawke dark skin or something.

SO you would like family to be changed to sort of resemble your character to enhance role playing and immersion...?

If you want freedom of choice then you should invest in a PC. Consoles are a freedom from choice. :P

To be honest, I was happy enough with the off-switch provided by Bioware.

Mainly the one where I could put a knife to Zevran's throat before or after I interrogated him.

Or telling him your not interested.

Customizing faces should not be limited to mods and PC.

It's not. Companion faces is, however.

All faces.COmpanion also.

I would Also like a very simple toolset for the console.

Still the very least you could give us is a treat after beating the game of having the option of changing something that we could not do before.Such as changing Companion faces.

Go back to the DAO forums and find out why that's not possible.

maybe just to match skin/hair color, not like, their facial structure. i think that'd be pretty simple for them to do.

I thought about a different form of implementing this idea. What about future RPGs where the player gets to create not one, but two characters? One as the main PC, and one as a permanent companion. They may then define both character's appearances and relationships accordingly.

In FO3, your PC's father's appearance changed depending on what race your PC was. However, it was kinda funny hearing Liam Neeson's voice for any non-white characters' fathers.

Not that I anticipate seeing this anytime soon, but it's a possibility.

I wouldn't use such a feature, personally. I guess I think that if the designers had a specific idea for the appearance of a character then I would want to stick with that (my own character being the exception). Yes, even if it meant that the family skin colour was different. I'm sure I'd manage to explain it away - adoption, half siblings or whatever. Though to be honest, I'm sure Bio can manage to match skin colour. I hope so anyway. That said, I wouldn't fly into a rage or anything if such a feature was included :-), particularly for console users who can't download mods. Better still, Bio should try to make it possible somehow for console players to access some mods, then the choices will be available to all anyway. x

Hmm I think that the personalities of the characters also define their look...voice casts are also choosen because the voice fits the looks...changing the look would lead to the danger of look and character and voice unfitting.

A persons look is the reflection of his/her character.

fmaily members changing to resemble the player character is a good idea

the option to change party members faces on the consoles seems like it would be alot of work, and it would probably mainly be used for silly uses anyway. leave the characters as the devs wanted them to be

Not all family members actually look related--yeah, skin color is a bit of a stretch, but we don't actually know the Hawkes' parentage.

the fallout 3 system worked well, something like that would not make them seem identical but would make the game better

I think the changing faces after 1 playthrough would be very nice feature plenty of console players would use that are planning on multiple playthroughs.

I also want a face editor for the player character. Perhaps have the option to edit one NPC companion, if they start with you, but the PC is essential. I spend much of my time now that I've completed Origins making new appearances for replaying different choices.
