DA2 blew me away. I know that's a stretch for such a small amount of info, but
for some reason I'm very intrigued. I admit to a little bit of vitriol towards
DA2 as well because DA:O "was made for me and only me, and how dare they change
anything unless OK'ed by me first!!!"

but one thing I can promise you is
that every game Bioware makes for the rest of their gaming career, be it hard
core RPG or 'dumbed down' shooter, will always have
more polish than the previous game. they will always move forward, and of course
whoever decides to following along is up to them. some old Baldur's gate and
dragon age fans may fall off, and they may gain new fans by a redesigned
approach to RPGs.

so, I just wanted to preface what I'm about to say with
that because I don't want it to sound completely negative. my question is this,
how much of Bioware's direction is influenced by EA? for better or for
worse?

its nice to know when bioware puts out a new game that we don't
have to wait for a publisher to be announced. that was horrid, like what
happened with NWN1... (burr)

so the new DA2 has my skirt in a bunch right
now, but its not a terrible bunch, just an 'intriguing' bunch... if DA2 plays
analogue to ME2, I will still love it.

will I be a tad disappointed?
maybe. but, of the only two 'new' art styles directions that they may be heading
in, being that of either "stylistic/cell shaded or super serious ME style, I will be excited for both!!!

after my initial
shock over being 'forced' to be human and the possible art style change, I
immediately imagined dropping certain details of game management and RPG tropes
for deeper immersion and a simplified game design that only leaves room for fun
and then I was excited to see the direction bioware took with the new
DA!!!

heres to looking forward and upward, but not up my skirt... even
though I'm a guy... and I'm not even that attractive... especially because of my
video game physique...

There is nothing wrong with necro'ing threads.

However, necro'ing with the intention of adding.. well, nothing, is not something we're going to be doing.

Locking for contentless necro.
