1. Harbinger

2. Scions

3. Praetorians

Praetorians were terrifying on the first few playthroughs, but once you know what to do, they are pretty easy.

Flamethrower Vorcha. I just hate how sometimes they're placed just around the corner and how they stun you repeatedly. Some of the deaths I've had on Archangel's recruitment mission are because of that one vorcha placed around the corner in the narrow hallway that leads to one of the shutters.

ME1 - Rachni. Especially when you didn't have an assault rifle to barrel through them.

ME2 - Praetorians. I don't know how I could spend so much time on just two encounters.

This x1000.  I have found that if you blaze through the first part of that hallway quickly enough, he doesn't spawn.  But when he does, it's oh-so-frustrating because as soon as you're around the corner he starts flaming you, and you can't hit him because of a corner bug (powers hit the corner instead of around it, where you are looking).  And once he hits you, it's all over.  Hardest boss in the game if you aren't an infiltrator or assault sentinel (or maybe adept but I've never played that level as one).

ME2: scions... those buggers are a PITA... because they can negate most cover thankfully combat drones are good at distracting them. YMIR's after that.... tough little buggers especially when there's more than one. Praetorians to me were just a nuisance, find cover and whoever isn't a target hammers on them. Husks are bad on high difficulty even with knockback effects below hardcore they're easily manageable. Dominate keeps Harbinger sufficiently distracted.

ME1: anything that swarms on high levels

I'll have to concur with the general consensus here and say that Husks and Scions together are the most dreaded/hated enemies are Scions mixed in with Husks. Individually they are both manageable with some caution and some HW usage, but together they are an absolute nightmare. They frustrate me to no end and I hope that more enemies are that frustrating and challenging in ME3.:D

Krogan and Mechs were at best an annoyance.

The Scion/husk combo is the worst-- major long-range threat with massive close-range threat.

I also hate double YMIR mech situations as one of them will inevitably get too close while you deal with the other.

Scions, Husks, and Praetorians. Mostly because they smack too much of the Flood and the fact that they're on the most difficult levels. Playing hardcore as a Vanguard sucked when I had tons of Husks bearing down on me and I couldn't one shot them with my shotgun, Scions kept killing my squadmates on the Collector Ship platform, and Praetorians took forever to die. I hate Husks so much that I modded my game save to give me infinite Cain ammo to wipe them out ASAP.

lol, when you get a chance, try the engineer. You could use drones to distract the scions while you burn them with incinerate and other weapons.

Hands down, it's Husks. True, any sort of decent AoE biotic power like Shockwave or Pull/Throw Field will deal with them in a jiffy, but if I'm playing on a class without good crowd-control powers like an Infiltrator, they can be a real pain in large groups. They're decently tough that unless you have a fully modded Assault Rifle, you can't just mow them down before they get to you, and then they just one-arm hug you to death while you stagger around from one Husk to another. (Why don't Husks seem to stagger back when *I* punch them?)

Scions are annoying, but I usually just keep at a distance and take them down with sniper rifles and powers. They're only problematic if I have to deal with Husks at the same time.

Praetorians are usually encountered alone, or with only a few buddies, so it's just a matter of playing keep-away with cover as you whittle it down.

YMIR Mechs also deserve a mention because of their sheer toughness, but it's always fun to AI Hack one and watch it turn on its friends. XD

Talimancers, I mean, those guys are...

Oh, you meant in the GAME. I really hate husks, Praetorians, and the Oculus. I also really hate charging Krogan. I guess I could sum it up by saying I hate enemies that try to close/charge or can fly and shoot beams of ouch at you.

It's funny, Praetorians I've found very easy to kill, don't even need heavy weapons to do it.
Scions are others that can be though, but I really don't have trouble with them.

I really suffer with husks, always have a hard time in the IFF and Horizon because of them, not the others guys.
Lame, I know...

But common, the best part in a Krogan fight is when you're a Vanguard and some Krogan decide to charge you.
Then you charge them!
Always makes me laugh.

Yeah, with Vanguards the whole situation is different, you've got an automatic escape power if your Charge recharge is decent. It's a whole 'nother ball of wax. Even Infiltrator's get a break with the Tactical Cloak. But with your Soldiers, Adepts, Sentinels, and Engineers, those close-quarters types give me the heebie-jeebies.

A good way to destroy husks as an infiltrator (without squadmates), is to get at least 1 point in cryo ammo and slap it on your pistol.  Whenever husks appear, incinerate them, shoot them with the pistol once.  Done deal.

Credit to cruc1al (or however you spell his name) for giving that tip.

Praetorians, 200%. Jogging out of cover it's hovering over while under the glare of those twin particle beams is rough business. I finished the mission with the second one having only my shotgun - as a Soldier - because I poured the rest of my ammo into it.

Scions. Multiple Scions. Surrounded by Husks. *vomit*

Praetorians are a pain in the ass but there aren't really many in the game.

And YMIR Mechs. If they didn't walk so fast I wouldn't mind.

Only Scions combined with other troops (foremostly husks and once with those Collectors AND Harby) and the YMIRs on that one Blue Suns sidemission. Those can be a pain in the ass if you have the wrong mood.

About that IFF, I found that mission ridiculously easy with my infiltrator and the auto-slow down when zooming in. Husk coming near - Zoom in - Headshot - Dealt with. And if there are more coming at you, cloak, retreat and rain hell on them a bit later. Combined with good CQC Mates like Grunt and this whole mission is a cake. Or take the Avalanche on that mission, ... it's like the icing on the cake (pun intended!).
