I've been seeing a lot of completely random predictions, based on nothing but a few developers's posts taken completely out of context and a phrase in the DA2 social site. Apparently a dynamic combat system mean that they sent plot, and choices, and interaction down the drain?

I for one am confident that BioWare will deliver the same story quality they did in Dragon Age, with a few changes to the combat system.

Thinking of more dynamic, perhaps instead of being a Oblivion like hack-and-slash they're talking about, it means that the environment you are fighting on has more influence over the battles and more of the battle system is affected by the environment, like weather, etc?

BioWare is a game development business?

Shocking!

David Geider said that they could make some changes in the dialogue system, but on a limited scale. That was like 2 months ago. Suddenly everyone seems to know for sure they will use Awakenings dialogue system, instead of something completely new.

Come on man. EA aren't the badguys they used to be. Activision are the villains now.

that we have both Twoface and Joker now doesn't mean Batman doesn't have to kick the ass of both

Show evidence that the quality of BioWare games released under EA has dropped first.

Actually he said the original system was flawed and as far as Awakening goes it is a work in progress. David's responses made in the "New Conversation System is a HUGE step in the right direction." thread are the reasons why people believe that DA2 will have a similar conversation system like Awakening.

A lot of the fear mongering and hated has come from an implication drawn from two facts:
1) This chap's name is invariably Hawke.
2) This fellow is also invariably a human.

The name Hawke has sent the people of this forum into hysteria, because another fixed surname happens to be Shepard, and that name is fixed because it allows voice acting.
Of course, all of that is complete nonsense. Shepard never uses his own name, so that has nothing to do with it. In DA:O the PC was known as Warden, but he's not a Grey Warden this time around, so he needed a name, and Hawke was close at hand.

Secondly, people are complaining about the lack of choice in race, predicting that this will mean a loss of all customization. This isn't true. The PC is probably a human for one important reason.
He's going to be moving around rebuilding villages and cities in his homeland. Dwarves couldn't do this because they're all underground and that's too much design work, and besides which would require a different plot. Elves, on the other hand, don't even have cities.

*EDIT*
The city building is only an example of a plot that might work in only one specific context. Besides which, while city building is admirable and all, it doesn't make for much of a game.

There. All doomsaying has officially been debunked. You're welcome.

Where does it say that he will be rebuilding villages and cities in his homeland?

First one is subjective and second one was published by SEGA, not EA.

Not to mention that EA brought Mass Effect to the PC in the first place, preventing it from becoming a console-exclusive game.

It's just an example of how a plot line might only work in one specific context. Take it out of that context, and you need to build another world for that other context.
Besides which, I don't actually expect the PC of DA2 to do all that much rebuilding. It's very admirable and all, but I'm afraid that it doesn't make much of a game. The real plot line will probably involve a convoluted story with heirs to the throne and lots of enchantment.
