What would you like to see for the villain in Dragon age 2?

For me, if this game involves another Blight, I hope the Archdemon gets killed almost right at the start of it. But, it got killed by a normal person. So, the old god possesses a Hurlock instead.

So, instead of a lame zombie dragon, we get an intelligent Darkspawn warlord who's enslaved the majority of his race.

If the game doesn't revolve around a Blight? Not sure.

Someone I can really sympathise with, but still fight. I know Bioware have tried that with other games, but they've always been at least somewhat Evil (with a capital 'E'). I want to be able to seriously consider their viewpoint.

Edit: another Blight would be boring. The Warden's story is over, so the darkspawn's must be as well. We might still fight them as mobs, in the Deep Roads or something, but the antagonist will be something new, I think.

As long as Fred Tatasciore is involved (I just hope he is), I'm in. :)

I'd actually be psyched if Dragon Age 2 was largely not about the Darkspawn at all (though naturally they should still be hanging around, it's always fun to chew up darkspawn). Another Blight so soon seems a bit redundant though. Since DA2 seems to be this epic (10 year) personal story of your character's rise to power, it would be cool to see something more intimate and personal. Something that exploits the kinds of rich and complex (and disturbingly messed up!) side story arcs which had a lot of conflict between different shades of grey (and dark greys).

Dream villain: charismatic leader manipulating major factions into a self destructive war (perhaps only as a decoy for something more devious?).

Or!

A scheming possessed Nug with a penchant for silky Antivan hair...

I'm actually pretty sick of these by now. In the end I'm just going "Why is he even the villain then?"

I want an evil villain. Don't make him do evil for evil's sake, give him a clear motivation. Just make him go about achieving his goals evilly, and make him unrepentant. I don't  want to sympathise with him, I want to hate him. If I end up liking him, I just don't feel motivated in wanting to kill him.

Anyways, if I were to make a plea, I'd say the villain must be motivated. If he/she/it gets a proper an reasonable motivation, I don't care if he's plain evil or a mislead man like Loghain.

Hawke as the villain -- if there's an 'evil' option of course. Final battle could be a revolt against your rule or something.

I'd be ok with that if the God-Child actually looked different to a normal person. Maybe Dragon like? Darkspawn like?

Hawke as the villain would be interesting if it was a surprise. He fights against opposition on his way to power and in the end he realizes, everything he has done was evil and the opposition are the "good" ones...

Other than that, I think I don't want a villain at all. With a villain it seems to be the same over and over again. Evil person does evil things and gets killed in the end. I liked how the old Ultima games handled this. The villain turned out to be a race fighting for survivial or a man who was blinded by power and redeemed himself etc.

Would be interesting, cause I think Morrigan could be an intersting villain ... on the other hand I still want my character to have a happyly-ever-after-ending with her, so ..Image IPB

I dont really want a female villain.

All of Bioware's female villains have been fairly crappy (not saying that all of their male ones are amazing though), and although I would like a decent female villain from Bioware, I'd rather they play it safe with this one.

I want it to still revolve around darkspawn and blights but I wouldn't mind if there were another villain of some sort. Another warring faction or something, like another country trying to take over.

I think that the darkspawn the dragon possesses turns into a dragon. People managed to kill the first archdemon several times but it always came back as a dragon.

I hope the new plot will not involve darkspawn but something else and I hope the world won't become a battlefield at the start of the game. I would like it if the main villain wouldn't be revealed right away and that the PC would have to slowly uncover the villains plans. I hope it's not another big bad (who is known from the start) is gathering army, you gather allies and stop him plot and if it is I hope there's more to it than that.

Morrigan and Old God Child WOULD make for a good story, but because I'm 100% positive they won't be in, I do want a villain that starts out as someone insignificant, that you watch rise to power over the 10 years of play. Similar to Kefka, in a way (Best villain ever.).

It will have something to do with those pesky Tevinter mages and their blood magic, and their dragon worshiping crap, I'm sure

Man thats dumb. I mean seriously?! How the hell could that happen? It makes no sense at all.

Although if that is true, it could mean the OGB will turn back into a dragon.
